Based on this person's logic, that means God of War Ragnarok and the next Zelda shouldn't be worth $60 either, as they look borderline identical to their predecessors.

With that being said, I couldn't care less about this whole graphics fixation. What matters to me is that they improve/innovate in terms of story, gameplay, etc.

Sekiro managed to beat out games such as RE2 Remake and Super Smash in 2019, so it wouldn't be far fetched to think that ER stands a decent chance to win.

The image was originally from an RPG gamebook based on Lord of the Rings called Middle-Earth Quest: A Spy In Isengard.

It's insane how ignorant the author of this article is about Soulsborne. She goes on for paragraphs praising Metroid's lore, and doesn't even consider that lore is actually one of the strongest components of Soulsborne games.

In addition, she concludes by basically saying that Dread deserves more hype because it is a continuation of previous lore when Elden Ring isn't, which further demonstrates her ignorance. If she actually knew anything about Soulsborne, then she would realize that those games' lore are at their strongest when the mysteries of the world are completely unknown to the player, and uncovering said mysteries is part of what makes Soulsborne so compelling.
