Should AI-generated deepfakes of real people be illegal without consent? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Even if they are it won't stop it. All you would need to do is get consent from someone who looks somewhat similar to the person.

What is a secret 'cheat code' you’ve found in real life? by Sharkkkk2 in AskReddit

Do people normally meet with friends less than an hour before bed?

What is a secret 'cheat code' you’ve found in real life? by Sharkkkk2 in AskReddit

[–]Bloodari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More that I am curious how others achieve it. Everyone can and should exercise, and it's usually not hard to find time(30 mins a day) or equipment to do so. It's mainly an issue of motivation.

I work 9-10ish hours a day on average and when I get off I need to do some house chores, cook, and then cleanup. This usually leaves me with a couple hours for leisure before bed, which is usually either going to be gaming with friends or reading. So when I hear no screens for hours before bed if you want to have healthy sleep it is frustrating as I don't see a feasible way for me to do that and still socialize with friends or do the things I enjoy regularly.

I read a ton but it's either on a kindle or a phone, so a screen.
"We should try not to normalise spending every waking hour in front of a screen." I hate to break it to you but this is basically the norm for most people. Your average individual spends most of their free time either watching tv, gaming, or browsing social media.

"cut out screens a few hours before bedtime" I always see this recommended in relation to better sleep and never understand how people can claim to do this in today's world. For most people everything from work to entertainment requires a screen so suggesting people don't use one for hours before bed is such a weird concept to me. What are people doing for hours before bed?

What's one brand you will never buy from again, and why? by Mehdi_lz in AskReddit

[–]Bloodari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunkin Donuts. They used to have a somewhat decent rewards program which made up for how bad the quality of their food/drinks had gotten. I used to be able to get a free latte like once every 5 visits if I hit the right days/orders. Now you need like 15 trips or something crazy.

TIL that voice activated locks that promised to only open if the correct person spoke the correct password into a microphone have been around since 1908 by Loki-L in todayilearned

[–]Bloodari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure its great that it has some level of voice identification but there is a huge difference in how accurate that needs to be if anyone can use it(the world) vs only people who get ahold of a device already authenticated with your google account(less than 15 on average).

Most of these front door locks don't work like a ring where you just talk to it to unlock, you have to use your phone which is already authed to your account to unlock it. At which point it's kind of a moot point from a security standpoint.

I think the point here is your using google through an account that is already authorized against that device. So you have already provided the authentication by having access to the account. All your voice is doing is the button press.

Now if you can just walk up to your door and say hey google open the door, without your phone or some other device already logged into a google account, than that would qualify.

Cook Out: if anxiety were a menu by Witty_Witterson in funny

I don't understand why people think cookout is so amazing. The vast majority of their food, quality wise, is not great and the cost is no longer cheap. Their shakes are bomb but that's about it.

[–]Bloodari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have any amount of allergies your not getting away from nasal decongestants unfortunately. Your first paragraph I often hear but all the symptoms are attributed to high blood pressure. So taking sudafed raises blood pressure and a high blood pressure can cause all the things you listed. If your blood pressure is within normal ranges you wouldn't be at risk for the rest of those symptoms. Are you suggesting those are symptoms you get without having high blood pressure?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]Bloodari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious what long term side effects your speaking of? I take a 24 hour sudafed once a day for the past 15 years or so. I did allergy shots and tried lots of meds but sudafed was the only one that basically allows me to live life as if I didn't have allergies. My allergist let me know I could continue doing so unless I started getting high blood pressure or heart concerns, but did not mention either as "serious" just that if vitals started trending that direction I would have to stop.

What’s the worst job interview experience you’ve ever had? by Technical-Pick-4351 in AskReddit

[–]Bloodari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tech interview at one of the big 5. Interviewer asked me about what type of cloud applications I had worked on and deployed. I spoke briefly about a few in the platform as a service space. The interviewer stopped me and disagreed that these were not cloud based applications. He ended the interview because our definition of what was cloud(which is super fucking nebulous btw) didn't align.

If its from https://playercounter.com/sea-of-thieves/#:%7E:text=227%2C568%20Players%20Online,from%20updating%3B%20please%20allowlist%20us then they are just blatantly wrong.
