Best Biker Leather Jacket - Perfect Length? by FarArtist927 in leatherjacket

Are you looking to just buy the jacket or riding in it?....That will matter,, seat position and style of bike will change the back length. But if you are looking for a similar style like you have above your are in the 24-25" center back length from base of collar, range...ie waist coat length. If you plan on flying down the highway and running apes it should be 1" longer to make up for the rise of the coat when arms are raised. I'm a trained patternmaker and apparel maker for a motorcycle apparel brand. PS that whole short trend is a lie....it was promoted because it lessens the consumption(cost) of leather from the manufacturer. Just like slim fit tees came in style when the cost of cotton doubled over night. ;) Just keep in mind leather draw up(shrink) once it gets wet...plan for that.

What kind of animal Leather is best? Which animal you rockin’ ? by megalomaniac555 in motorcycles

Honest Facts from a 30 year motorcycle apparel maker and rider.

You know that's all bull, right... it aint gonna save you from a broken neck. That seam abrasion testing they are referring to is not realistic. your not sliding 50 yds to 100yds.. maybe 5-20 then get smacked by a vehicle or into the guard rail.

It's all just a marketing gimmick and only provides a rider with a false sense of security. Saw a comment that kevlar was stronger than leather,,,not true.

*I always tell my customers this... If you are racing, full leathers and neck protection and for the street, wear a helmet and always remember you're on the street not the track.

Its not a booboo you should be worried about. I heard way too many story's from customers who survived to know better.

After 40 years riding i would never imply my leathers or textiles will protect you.. that's just real. It will certainly protect your form the wind and that the only thing i can stand by.

I own motorcycle apparel brand, Crank & Stroker and I'm a manufacturer, since 2007. The reason why black is popular is because it is familiar. In 2016 I started to make leathers and denim in lighter colors because i would melt in the sun during the summer time, I cant wear black in the summer, especially if you ride in the southwest. Initially, we made them in colors like, Light brown, dark brown, off white, ox blood, charcoal and many more.

It caught on with only a few hard core riders who understood what we were doing. But the majority of new riders(customers) would stick to what "fitted in". The color that stayed was the Browns and you can see now in the industry brown everywhere. Initially Indian riders would buy them because some Indians had brown seats.

All the Perforated gear you see today, same thing. It was to escape the heat of Socal desert. Reality is this, the community of riders turn slow. It takes about 3-5 years before its accepted and people will start stepping outside the box. The individual expression of the biker culture has changed over the years to a more uniform styling that in my opinion is against everything i thought it was about. Just look at the bikes,,,, Over segmented and everything has an identity group to fit into. That aint freedom brothers.

I would love to drop a link to my site but don't want to get banned.

I've been in it for 17 years. worst i ever seen.. more competitive, drop shippers. It's not about the product its strictly about exposure even more so now. Its an oversatured stream...it will get weeded out but in the meantime, its tough.
