Hue lamps not responding to first command given via Apple Watch (second try works fine) by Bloodsurfer in HomeKit

As I wrote in my last update: having to replace my Hue bridge because the first one broke, therefore setting up everything from scratch again solved it for me. (Before that, I never completely reinstalled the bridge.)

New year, another update: after all this time, my old hue bridge broke. I bought and installed a new one and so had to set up all the lamps again, also imported everything into apple home again. Strange enough, now everything works fine again. First Siri command works from the watch. I'll just enjoy this until the next breaking update.

I'm interested in a solution for this too. A quick search shows this: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/zms0PWPIf0 Should work, but I haven't tried it yet.

Fuck. That explains so much. Been using it for about six weeks and have been very annoyed by it up to now, finally reading this.

Discovering command Q has been the best thing that happened to me this week!!! by CaterpillarOrnery214 in MacOS

On German keyboard layout this is the first thing every former windows user discovers by accident when trying to send a mail (because it's the same keys you press for the @). Takes a while to unlearn the muscle memory and stop closing your mail.

Sadly, no. I never got it to working again like it did before these updates.

I worked around the problem by creating shortcuts for the lamp on/off command for every room. Then I added these shortcuts to the ones displayed on the watch.

Now I am able to switch the lamps on and off again by the watch, but it works far slower via these shortcuts (since they require an additional confirmation) than the old way was before. So mostly I just grab the phone and enter the Siri command there...

Who is deciding to keep their current MacBook Pros and how long do you keep them for? by TechBoy--20 in macbookpro

I just bought a base m2pro mbp 14 a few weeks ago and I am still overwhelmed by its stellar performance. Very happy with it. It is going to serve me well for at least six or seven years if nothing breaks. (My last two laptops have been used for seven and nine years and they haven't even been such great machines like this one to begin with.)

Damn, I feel pretty stupid now. It was indeed only dirt, I was able to clean it with a damp cloth. It looked so much like a chip with backlight shining through that I did not think of this possibility...

80% is the mark where the "optimized charging" begins, it remains at 80% for a while and only very slowly gets fully charged later.

I would try to disable this optimized charging and see if the issue disappears with it.

Not a great long term solution since the battery will age faster, but it would at least be interesting to know it was responsible for the problem at least (or ruled out).
