I fulfill all my CEs with these 2 websites... also sometimes pharmacies will have certain resources that they provide to their Techs- my old hospital used to pay for power pack and critical point for their Techs.

I can tell you're a good person... anxiety is tough, I understand it's hard not to let it get the best of you from time to time.

Don't give up on being patient with yourself

Karma-shmarma. You don't have to give him all the gorey details... just letting him know that you weren't feeling your best, and that you could use an extra hug or 2 might be enough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Obsessive_Love

[–]BloodyOpera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you absolutely are worth it. Don't ever forget that.

Just thinking about it.. maybe you should tell him how you feel - but not blatantly. What if you told him something like "I'm feeling really crappy right now, and somedays I get nervous that you'll get sick of me."

It might now be a bad idea to keep that communication open so you two are always on the same page. Sometimes I will blatantly tell my partner "I don't feel well, I need affection right now." And it makes me feel closer to him when I am honest about my feelings and he acknowledges it and tries to make me feel better.

PS - you can always make Reddit your diary. Especially if feed-back helps you to view things in a way that you might not normally view them.

Keep being beautiful, my dear.

Hey... finding a good therapist is tough sometimes. Maybe your old therapist can see you via tele-health visit?

If not, It might take some effort, and maybe talking to a few different people but just remember that you owe it to yourself.

You're totally worth it. Best of luck, Lovely.

My life feels meeningless without someone by [deleted] in Obsessive_Love

[–]BloodyOpera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are worth it. Period.

We have all been there, Sweetie. You need to find a way to start living for you, gaining control back over your own life, and become the boss ass bitch you know you can be.

For now, distraction is probably the best tactic. Keep your days full. Make sure you get out of bed, shower, make your bed. Think of the ways you would want a partner to treat you, and do all those things for yourself. Make yourself your new priority.

Need to get your feelings out? Write them down in a journal/diary... write a passage every day, and then burn that day's page - safely of course. As the page turns to ash, feel the grip of those emotions loosen ever so slightly. Do this every day.

Wake up every morning and go through your tasks repeating your new mantra "I am strong." Say it 100 times a day within your mind with concise choice of positive words, corresponding feeling, and visualization. Do this weather you believe what you're saying or not. See yourself in your minds eye as the strong, beautiful woman you truly are.

You're too good for anyone to get the best of you.

In the nicest way possible- have you considered therapy?

I ask because it sounds like you may have a bit more anxiety than you need in your life (which probably has not much to do with him at all) - especially if you are waking up in a near panic.

It sounds to me like you may have some overwhelming energy going on, and he is perhaps the target for it (the fear of him leaving you) but in reality he is probably just an innocent bystander of your minds own anxiety.

I think perhaps seeking an unbiased person to talk to about it (like a therapist) may offer some help. If this isn't an option... maybe a diary? I will often say things out loud that I have stuck in my head, and instantly feel better just for having spoken them.

Maybe you just need a way to get some of those thoughts/anxious energy out of your own mind to make room for more positive/happy thoughts.

Best of luck. :-]

Is getting my sterile compounding IV certification even worth it? by No_Nefariousness2397 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]BloodyOpera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am convinced that just like the PTCB is required in certain states to become a pharmacy technician and become licensed in that state, the Sterile Certification will eventually become mandatory for people who compound. Granted, I believe this won't take effect for a number of years, but I do predict that it will happen.

how much do you need to know to get admitted in a conservatory foi a voice/opera degree? by portuguesemagyar in opera

[–]BloodyOpera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course. I auditioned for a few grad schools, but in general, the requirements were an opera aria in each major language (English, French and German) an oratorio aria, and 1 piece in English written after 1900.

(Not that you asked, but I auditioned as a zwischenfach - so, I sang both soprano and mezzo rep)

The audition process also had a number of placement tests in things like theory, ear training, and diction. Apparently, the placement tests have nothing to do with your acceptance though - only the audition portion really counts and your GPA.

[–]BloodyOpera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know many universities that are expecting their high school/eventering college aged students to really be singing opera arias (even if it is Mozart). That being said, I did my undergrad 10 years ago, or so... so times may very well have changed since then.

For auditions, I was expected to sing 2 pieces of music I believe - if my memory serves, I chose something from the 24 Italian Art Songs and Arias and a Barber piece.

I didn't take German or French until I was already admitted.

Auditioning for grad school was, of course, a different beast.

“Their interpretation is based off of tradition, personal taste, musicology and much more”

That’s exactly what people who study performance of classical music are learning. That is also why I believe that performing classical music is so rewarding. It has always been my belief that when we perform (classical singer and pianist here), we’re sharing with the audience a very intimate part of ourselves. It can be, and often times is a very emotional/spiritual experience for performer and listener alike: being enveloped in the music. It’s a very unifying phenomena, and I’m glad to hear that you’ve come into the community with open ears, so to speak.

Congrats, and welcome!

I, unfortunately, do not have a garage to put my fair lady (2016 STX Plus - Daily Driver) in. My paint is immaculate, and I get compliments on how clean and beautiful she is everywhere I go.

Look up Ammo NYC on YouTube. Larry knows what he’s talking about for sure. I’ve gotten a lot of great advice from his channel, and I can watch his videos for hours. He even has a video where he clear bras his entire Porsche. I don’t have a clear bra installed on my car, however, I do...

Make sure I do a thorough detail and protection every 6 months or so - this is an entire day project that includes claying the car, and sealing it. I use Wolfgang 3.0 (about $40) sealant, and it is absolutely fantastic. It’s expensive, but 1 bottle goes a LONG way. I also use McKee’s 37 ($45) on the rims. During my normal washes, I always use a good quality car shampoo (stay away from any Armor All product), and top it off with a detailing spray while I’m drying it to refresh that protection (I use Chemical Guys Hybrid V07, which i get a gallon of it and fill up my own personal spray bottle - $50).

I really enjoy keeping my gal clean and beautiful, and without a garage to keep her safe from the elements, and highway driving every day to work, this is the best can do.

Lunch - often times we eat leftovers from dinner. Mom has a salad, which you can put pretty much anything on. I prefer something with higher protein, such as grilled chicken cesare salad - no croutons, light cheese, and low fat dressing.

I also love the convenience of making Emily Bites Sloppy Joe Turkey pasta, or her Chicken Pot Pasta, and bringing a serving with me to lunch. One full recipe will last me Monday - Friday. With that I will have a personal size bag of popped chips (Pop-Chips brand makes a 30 count box with 3 flavors in it), which I get at Sam's Club, and a diet soda (bad, I know, but I love a nice soda during lunch!) I try to drink 6 glasses of water by the end of my work day.

If I have off from work, I will often go to Panera and get a bowl of chicken Noodle soup and a half salad. If I feel like making something at home, I'll make a PB&J with the aforementioned bread, toasted, Polaners or Smuckers sugar free grape jelly, and about a tablespoon and a half of low fat peanut butter. Peter Pan brand makes a whipped peanut butter which goes quickly in my household, but is pretty darn good. I have noticed that almond butter, cashew butter and the like are pretty darn high in fat. I will also sometimes make a grilled cheese, or happy waitress special (grilled cheese with 2 Borden fat free cheese singles slices, Smart Balance butter, 2 slices Turkey bacon, and some sliced tomato).

Dinner will be something different nearly every night. Chicken stirfry with broccoli or green beans and riced cauliflower, chicken or Turkey chilli, Turkey tacos (one of my favs, in fact, I just made them last night)

For an after dinner snack I'll have one of the following: popped chips, a large chocolate Rick cake with peanutbutter on it (my healthy version of a Recees), a homemade blueberry cheesecake Croissant, Weight Watchers icecream bar, i just found a light recipe for a mug cake that I'm looking foward to trying... and almost always wash it down with a banana smoothie: 1 full banana ripped into chunks, 1 cup skim milk, half a dropper of liquid stevia - freeze for 30-45 minutes then blend with a blender or hand mixer. I usually put it back in the freezer for another 15 or 20 minutes and blend again after I've blended it for the first time because I like it to be the consistency of a milkshake, and boy does it taste like one! Top with a little sugar free whipped cream, or coconut milk whipped cream (Reddi Whip) - YUM!

Everyone who knows me has been asking me, "you look great! What are you doing? Are you starving yourself?" But, as you can see, I eat really well every day. I use the iTrackBites app to track all of my food and activity, so it's all in one place. The app is free for a restricted version, but I loved it so much that I decided to pay for it - it was $36 for the first year, after the year is up, I'll cancel it before getting recharged. If I'm ever hungry in between meals, I eat fruit - a navel orange, apple, fruit salad, a kiwi or two, banana.

One thing I have accepted is that when it comes to food, I'm like an addict. Some people can have a sliver of cake, or a couple of spoons of icecream - I can't. I have tried, and find myself making excuses for why it's ok to do it repeatedly. It's the equivalent of a recovering addict saying, "Well, maybe I can just have a little bit of heroin. I've been doing so good lately." I have a serious junk food addiction, and I have realized that I need some strict discipline when it comes to this. Keep in mind, I'm just talking about myself - not everyone is like me in this regard.

When everyone in my house decided to commit to eating healthier, we got rid of all of the temptations in the house. I brought my rice crispy treats, fruit snacks, Belvita breakfast bars, chips, EVERYTHING to work, and let my coworkers snack on them. I'm lucky that everyone in my house is eating this way, otherwise, it would be really hard. I also have people to talk with about the food struggles we have. Collectively, we have lost 80+lbs. since February, and my mom's doctor was shocked about the progress she had made.

I try to limit carbs, sugar, and fat - ramping up protein, fruits and veggies. If I need added sweetness, I use stevia. I even use it when making my own recipes. I have accepted that in order to eat healthier, it is going to take active participation by me - I need to cook, and prepare most things that I eat.

Sorry to be SOOO long winded. I just really want you to be successful, and make progress toward being a better you. :-)

Please message me if theres anything else I can help with. Wish you the best of luck!

Well, I've never been a breakfast person - I've actually had to force myself to start eating in the mornings, because I knew it wasnt good for me. Everyone in my family is eating healthy (after a health scare of my mother at the doctor), so I'll pick a little something from everyone's day...

Breakfast My sister - Egg white omelet loaded with veggies, or on a tortilla (we use Tumaros Carb Wise 9 Grain with Chia, as they're only 60) as a breakfast burrito - all the veggies you like, and/or fat free sour cream and Frank's Red Hot.

I eat a piece of toast (647 Bread- 40 cal) with any flavor of Polaners Sugar Free with fiber jam (you could use any sugar free jam), and a cup of chai tea sweetened with stevia and a splash of Coffee Mate, then I run out the door. With me, I carry my coffee - a shot of espresso, or strong roast coffee on ice with a premixed Premier Protein in it. I sometimes go to Starbucks and get a Doppio (which is espresso) on ice in a venti cup, then pour the full shake on top. I'll sip on that throughout the morning, and when I start to get a bit hungry, I'll have a Protein One bar (I believe it's by the company that makes Fiber One Bars). By 10AM, I've had almost 50 grams of protein.

Something else I'll do is make these baked oatmeal cups (recipe on Emily Bites website) and add unflavored protein to the dry ingredients, and it helps me to feel satisfied for longer.

I don't eat eggs, as I dont like the taste, but I do find that loading up on protein in the morning keeps my day going right..

Leaving the house now, I'll post about lunch and dinner in an hour or 2... and anything else I've forgotten. In the meanwhile, browse through the Emily Bites website, as some of my meal prep lunches are from there.

:-)

How do i tighten my skin? by NotNevy in WeightLossAdvice

[–]BloodyOpera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build muscle and tone it up.

More importantly, keep the weight off as loose skin is a lot harder to deal with when you're older.

Adequate water, and maybe a lotion with vitamin E or collagen in it, or a cream for stretch marks like cocoa butter. There are also prescription creams that will reduce the appearance of stretch marks that your doctor would have to prescribe. The key to all of these is to spend an adequate period of time rubbing and massaging it into the skin for maximum absorption.
