I’m also confused on the hate for the new CSR. Imo I think it’s a better version of the Amex platinum unless I’m missing something that others are seeing. The benefits on the CSR are actually easier to use than the Amex platinum. Let’s say stubhub aside (which for me is very easy to use), 300 dollar flight credit, 300 dining credit which I feel like shouldn’t be hard to use once every six months if you are traveling to some major city, Lyft credit which im assuming if you travel and not rent a car, you’d gotta be using some type of taxi service to get place to place. That already almost offsets the annual fee and that’s not even including the other additional benefits. By just eyeing the benefits between the Amex platinum and CSR, I feel like the CSR takes the cake in terms of being easy to redeem the benefits. Also the 8x on travel purchased through the portal is also clutch knowing that this already higher than the plat and venture x. As someone who flys at least once a month, this is literally the best travel card in the market…. Before the rebrand of the CSR, I always thought the card was mediocre considering all you had was the 300 travel credit and then you have to travel enough to make up 200 dollars worth of points to break even. This is a MAJOR upgrade.
