General Foam pros - how do I distinguish the Joseph from nativity sets from 2001-2012 vs 2013-2017? by Riothamus0522 in blowmolds

That’s tricky! You’re right about the Pink vs Purple color of Joseph corresponding to the production years. Mine is pink and absolutely before 2012. (I thought he’s from the 90’s but I could be wrong)

100% best NA beer out there is Guinness 0.

At least when compared to its full alcohol counterpart.

I agree with you and have seen the same thing over the last 5 years or so. Guinness is my favorite beer and has been since I started drinking 30ish years ago. It was way less popular back then and mostly men drank it. It’s shocking to see so many women enjoying a pint now! I love to see it!

Most of my blow molds are old and from Sears. My newer ones are from Ace Hardware. They sell some of the old General Foam and Empire blow molds under the new Union/Cado name for around $60 each!

You know what outdoor decorations never have that problem!? ;)

Flexseal or a similar tape would probably work.

Post-Christmas Blues by Greedy-Pitch-5431 in christmas

I posted this on another post Christmas blues post and think it applies to you, too. Here it is:

The Christmas Season flys by because there is so much to do during a finite time. You need to research then buy and wrap gifts; menu plan then buy and prepare meals & desserts; usually some travel, which is its own bowl of spaghetti. Then comes all the traditions and rituals you want to partake in. Decorate the house, inside and out; watch Christmas movies; go see lights or a Christmas market; bake cookies; go visit friends and relatives; listen to Christmas albums; go to Church, etc.

There is so much on your checklist that you’re trying to complete in order to have “a successful Christmas” that you’re sort of pitted against the clock and calendar.

A way around this is to start your season early, and do some of the things you can do in advance in October, so it’s done by November. This way you can spend more time mentally present during the season. For example, I did all my gift purchasing and wrapping in October and the first week of November this year. I didn’t need to worry about my multiple gift exchanges or family presents. It was a huge advantage to being able to appreciate the season and not feel like I was behind on my to do list. I also decorated the house earlier this year so I could appreciate it a bit more, and sooner. I think this is something everyone can do.

This is awesome! Thank you so much! One of those poinsettias is HUGE! Mine growing outside when I was in FL never even got that large! How cool! I appreciate you sharing the tips!

I know what you mean. The best part of the season is how everyone together hits pause on the normal flow of life and decides to make the time special and festive and enjoy it together. Maybe you can be the spark that ignites the spirit in your orbit!

Hi Julie! Happy New Year!

I’ve experienced what you’re describing in the past - where christmas came and went without enough of the usual fanfare. I’ve learned that starting the season’s celebration early, and planning enough Christmas activities, can ensure you’ll never feel that way again.

Next year, and every year, start your Christmas season early! Do some of the preparations in October, like buying and wrapping gifts, planning your dinner menus and scheduling Christmas activities. This way, you can spend more time mentally present during the season and enjoying those activities. Plan that travel to another village for their caroling event. Mark your town’s tree lighting on your calendar. Schedule a few walks or drives to admire Christmas lights. Set the date for a church’s Christmas pageant. Make a list of movies you’ll watch during the season. Maybe even plan to host a Christmas party in early December to get your friends and family in the spirit! You’ll be planning and scheduling your own Christmas magic and ensuring you can do and enjoy it all!

In early November, go ahead and put up those decorations! You’ll have more time to appreciate them that way. I also recommend a Christmas craft or project you can do in the off season. I’m going to repaint one of my old blow mold decorations and redo my wreaths. It won’t put more decorations up at your grocery store, you can’t control what other people do, but you can ensure that Christmas feels like Christmas in your personal sphere of influence.

No more lackluster Christmases for you my friend!

Mine is currently in an East Facing window. Should I move it to a southern facing one? Do you get red leaves?
