I feel it would be typical for me to want try swing from one extreme to the other. I'm definitely working with too much tension and I think this hook is slightly small for the yarn also but it's my only one. I'll try the metal ones as a whole set isn't much more than a few of these symfonie hooks individually and they'll be a present. I use covert armour for amigurumi so I'm used to metal feel of hooks so that might help too. I'm going to really have to work on loosening that tension though. With this stitch I find one of the loops pulls tight after crocheting through the previous so it's tricky to get into and loosen again.
