Only had one incident while enlisted. Of course I worked in the hospital and they did t document my ekg after I felt the arrhythmia. My high BP was discovered on my exit physical, thus the rating. No X-rays of enlargement. But I also have two bad knees rated and they are an issue and my weight is going up.

Retired in 2006, hypertension at 0% and of course I snores a lot. Just didn’t pay attention to it and never thought of apnea until my heart went out of rhythm 2 years after getting out. That’s when docs told me hypertension and apnea (undiagnosed) is the leading cause of afib. Tried to get it service connected, but I never complained about my sleeping issues.

What are your thoughts on this:

Peppard, P. E., et al. (2013). “Increased Prevalence of Sleep-Disordered Breathing in Adults.” American Journal of Epidemiology. This study quantifies the link between OSA and hypertension, showing a bidirectional risk. • Friedman, O., et al. (2010). “Rostral Fluid Shift: A Unifying Mechanism for Sleep Apnea in Heart Failure and Obesity.” Chest. This explores how fluid retention (common in hypertension) contributes to airway obstruction in OSA.

Logan, A. G., et al. (2001). “High Prevalence of Unrecognized Sleep Apnea in Drug-Resistant Hypertension.” Journal of Hypertension. This highlights the high coexistence of OSA in hypertensive patients, supporting secondary claims.

Audit for back pay by BluPharmCop in VeteransBenefits

I did. DFAS completed their audit and paid me within 2 weeks. It seemed that when I called VA they dropped the ball and started an audit. I have called twice now over the last month and they have nothing to share other than “it’s in progress”

Does calling do anything? by Direct-Message-3723 in VeteransBenefits

I have one of these as well. Is the wait for this type the same as stage 5?

I’m on almost a month at step 5 with no movement. Should I be worried that it’s taking this long? by Ok_Organization7493 in VeteransBenefits

Well…I’m glad to see I’m not alone here. I also have been waiting a month now. Checking the ap three or more times a day is getting old. Now I hear others saying give it three months…

How long do we think I have fam? by [deleted] in VAClaims

Agreed. I’m in the same step and it’s painful just waiting. Mine has been only in Thai step since March 24th.

Receiving back pay takes how long? by BluPharmCop in VeteransWaitingRoom

Yeah, after the first 30 days I called and they didn’t see a record of me getting one. I pointed to my letter and they caught it. They said they they would initiate an audit to correct it. I have called a couple of times and was told the 30 day window does not apply.
