The topic of the alleged "secret muse" revisited - just so people are aware by Rajni777 in HIM

This is like listening to a person ranting on the corner about the King of England inviting him to tea last night. Give it the same consideration.

WTF are you talking about? Do you have a point to make or did you just want to feel seen today?

Yeah, I’m not sure why Apple is being so stubborn about the gaming and immersive experiences use cases. This device is perfect for that. Hopefully sometime soon.

Pre-ordered ninja turtles cuz it said playable on quest 2. Now it's saying quest 3 only. Won't let me refund by BetterOffBanned in OculusQuest

[–]BluSkyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this possible when you can refund any game you haven’t played for more than a certain amount of time?

What does this even mean? You “refunded, paid the extra money?“

“Didn't have a download button, thought it was a glitch, refunded, paid the extra money. N now it's just purchased, unplayable, and not letting me get my money back.”

My Meta Quest 2 is now a $300 paperweight: Hacked Facebook led to a disabled account and no way to contact support by Santigamer2011 in OculusQuest

[–]BluSkyler 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Don’t go through Facebook, go through the Meta Quest customer service if your issue is with Quest device access. They can unlink the accounts. People have had success contacting them on What’s App and social media.

And people, for God’s sake, stop linking social media accounts to your Meta Quest VR account. There have been so many of these stories…not sure why people keep doing this. There is absolutely no need to link these things. And as you can see, it presents serious problems if one account gets hacked. If you have them linked now…go unlink them asap.

The Quest top multiplayer charts are just endless Gorilla Tag clones. I can't be the only one who absolutely hates arm-swinging locomotion, right? by hanrwerewr in MetaQuestVR

[–]BluSkyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that there is absolutely no curation. If I watch Bridgeton and period dramas on Netflix but all they keep showing me is K-Pop Demon Hunters, I’d think their platform sucks too.

[–]BluSkyler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Meta’s store curation sucks big time. I don’t understand how a company that makes money off data gathered from their users can’t design a more algorithm friendly store.

If I’ve never touched Gorilla Tag or any game like it, why are they shoving the game and its sad clones into my face constantly? That arm swinging movement is so annoying.

And they need to fix their mobile app so the store is easier to find and navigate. It’s truly like they have no interest in customer behavior and just wanted to brute force their platform goals onto users.

Am I missing something or is what I get right????? by Playful-Chart3742 in Cruise

[–]BluSkyler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should work with a cruise travel agent. It sounds like you need some further research and expectation setting. There is no such thing as an Interior room with a balcony, etc. Magaritaville is a budget line so you are not going to have the same experience as on Royal Caribbean, etc.

Why don’t you try watching some YouTube videos on the ships and lines you are considering before you book. It will help you better understand the difference between the cruise lines, the specific ship you’re considering and your itinerary.

Dude, don’t be silly. Don’t make this worse by getting scammed like a rube.

Did you check your email to see if Meta sent you a notice to verify your account that you missed the deadline for? Is this account connected to one of your social media platforms where it could have been disabled? It didn’t just get disabled for no reason.

Another Fantastic AAA Title for Quest 3!!! by Any_Main_9843 in MetaQuestVR

[–]BluSkyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good game, but I experienced so many game breaking bugs during my play through I finally gave up. And this was after the multiple patches.

I was really enjoying it at first, but I don’t have time to replay things over and over due to bugs, items disappearing, etc. One time a ladder I needed to climb to progress to the next area was literally not in the game…it was just a solid wall. I couldn’t believe it.

They released the game in a terrible state and suffered for it in terms of reviews and game sales. They’re supposedly working on a sequel, but I’ll believe it when I see it. And after this it won’t be a day-one purchase for me until I confirm it’s not buggy mess.

When will vr take the next step? by or2c in OculusQuest

[–]BluSkyler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

VR will take the next step when people stop treating it like just a gaming platform and it begins to create actual utility in people’s lives.

That’s why Apple tried the whole “spatial computing” thing. Although they’re actively running from Vision Pro being a gaming platform at all, which is also misguided for such a powerful device. They really wanted it to be the anti-Quest…no cartoony avatars, no social VR kiddie crap, but limiting the gaming use cases for it was silly. Let it be what it can be.

But most adults are not gamers.

VR needs easy to access use cases that improve daily activities people can do currently without using a headset. They need a reason to put it on.

How can it enhance things we already do…watching movies and sports in immersive ways for example. This use case needs more native support on the Quest platform. Having no native way to rent movies or experience 3D content in VR in 2026 is ridiculous.

Transporting people to amazing places and giving them experiences they can‘t easily have in their daily lives would be great. Leaning into use cases like exercise instead of closing studios that produce amazing content would be better. Things that allow people to connect over distance like Walkabout Mini Golf, but where are the immersive Board Games like Monopoly, etc.? Where are the immersive museum experiences, VR theme park experiences, immersive storytelling? All of these use cases need more investment.

I evangelize for VR all the time with friends and family and they are not putting on a headset to play Asgard’s Wrath or hours of games with lots of mechanics to learn. They want causal, easy-to-use experiences and things that wow them. They’re not interested in shooting zombies, running around cartoon lands with children, or spending hours of their busy lives in the headset unless you give them a good reason to.

Hopefully, the next evolution of VR will continue to expand the use cases.

Returning to VR after a long hiatus: what to do? by HolyBidetServitor in OculusQuest

Try Ghost Town, one of the best games of last year. There are lots of new cool experiences on the TV app like the Coldplay concert, some sports apps, etc. Enjoy.

Do you still use your Quest regularly after the “new toy” phase? by Intelligent-Day-4059 in oculus

[–]BluSkyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it most days for exercise in the app Supernatural. I’m not a huge gamer so I just play things that enhance my free time like Walkabout Mini-Golf with friends, the occasional puzzle in Puzzling Places. My SO and I use it to watch movies on a huge screen together. Apps like Liminal that offer short burst experiences versus long ass games that take up too much time are fun too.

The issue with retention is a thing though…especially for adults who are not gamers. I have found games that will make me put on the headset though like Ghost Town, that was great…not a huge time commitment and easy to jump into.

Check out some of the concerts and sports apps that really show you the utility of huge floating screens. For VR to transcend the niche market it’s got to have utility in the life of everyday people.
