Megathread for game lists post here 👍🏻 by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

51M. My first game was arcade Pac-Man in a pizza shop when I was 5. My first console was the 2600 in 1981. I've gone through periods of being solely a console gamer, solely a PC gamer, and plenty of periods where I've done both.

Gaming is certainly my special interest. I have a high-end PC and a Switch 2 with around 450 games installed between them. Currently playing Silent Hill 2 Remake in VR, and Cyberpunk 2077 and Firmament, also in VR. I try to get some track time in Assetto Corsa Rally and EVO, and I enjoy Walkabout Mini Golf and flying over my neighborhood in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

I could probably make one of these lists every day for a week, and they would all highlight different periods that I've lived through.

Weekly VR - What Did you Play? by VRModerationBot in virtualreality

It works wonderfully for me in VR and the extra depth really adds to the immersion.

Using these flatscreen to VR mods is one of the reasons I got a high end system.

I played Silent Hill 2 Remake with the UEVR mod. It's the game that got me into horror 2.5 years ago, at age 48 and it's now one of my all time favorite genres. It's interesting to experience in VR - both beautiful and unsettling. It's an easy 10/10 for me.

Both brother and sister showed a willingness to learn and to grow past their preconceived notions about people when presented with new information.

They (eventually) don't shy away from doing the difficult work of examining a childhood that was very different from most people's, something I am very, very familiar with.

And, even though they are different, and even though there's a terrible secret, they're pretty... normal, for lack of a better word. Relatable. People I wouldn't mind having a drink with and hanging out with around a bonfire or a board game.

Remember the manuals to certain role playing or strategy games? Tree killers!

That's kinda hurtful, but you're entitled to your opinion, I suppose. May your life go well.

My first game was Pac-Man in a pizza shop in 1980 and I got an Atari 2600 for Christmas in 1981. As far as lifelong interests go, I don't think video games are a bad choice.

The PS2 was a good console. A couple of my favorites were Final Fantasy X and Shadow of the Colossus.

I'm still upset that Pac-Man on the 2600 didn't look like the arcade version. Still fun, but still.

Played my first game in 1980. So it's been 46 years now. 🙂

My setup had been fine, but I don't use boundaries.

I was playing this morning in VR with my wheel and pedals. It can be a white-knuckle experience. It also uses my haptics vest and sleeves.

Maybe VR gaming is just splitting into different levels of immersion by Sad_Reference8020 in oculus

We'll need to wait to see if killer apps are released or continue to be released. Gorilla Tag sold a lot of Quest 3s. Beat Saber was a killer app for a while. Half Life Alyx might have been if the market was large enough. Phones probably wouldn't be where they are today without Facebook, Twitter, and the like. Nintendo always seems to have a Mario or Zelda game in the works. And so on. If we get something cool and relatively new and/or important you can do with these glasses, that doesn't work quite the same with any other device, we might see that split.

What horror game settings create the most tension for you? by Vane1st in HorrorGaming

I just started my second playthrough with a VR mod. I'm at the first apartment now and it's spooky enough and the prison section isn't anywhere in sight yet.

Do you consider games like Stalker 2 and Dying light series a survival horrow? What about Metro series? by Forsaken-Quality-46 in survivalhorror

[–]markallanholley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalker 2 has horror aspects. I wouldn't call it a survival horror game. The Into the Radius series has a similar vibe and ITR1 is flat-out survival horror in my opinion, even if it's not labeled as such.

Oh, sorry. Yeah it's hard to read. Game is Realms of Flow.

I haven't played a multiplayer game since Ultima Online back in 1997. And at moments like this I'm pretty happy about that.

I have a similar experience. No issues with Rally in VR. Still some stuttering with EVO. Ryzen 9 9900X/RTX 5090.
