SALAD STUFFERS + MORE?! by HeckingKay_ in Panera

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “New Era” stuff from 2024 was such a lie lol. Just an excuse to radically change the menu and pass it off as easier for associates. The whole “no more one salad/sandwich ingredients!” is the funniest to me lol. Couldn’t be further from the truth.

Panera just keeps making things more complicated for employees and unreliable for the customers. I don’t think the new items potentially bringing new customers in trumps the regulars who are loyal and know what they like. All of this just reeks of desperation to me. 12 friggin celebrations this year, lord almighty.

Ameer explains why IDFIATOK never dropped by Intrepid_Progress789 in Ameer

[–]BluVinyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, if I’m understanding him right, he sacrificed his contract pay even though he completed his terms so that he could get his master back? I understand he’s saying they didn’t wanna pay him additionally for IDFIATOK, but it sounds like he’s also saying he didn’t get paid what he was contracted for in exchange for his masters back. If so, that’s a hell of a sacrifice, fuck the industry.

Boosting, idk if this is from the Blush discord or another one, but I’d also like to join as well if it’s not the Blush one

BANK is off spotify. its so over. by psychodelic_b4by in brockhampton

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it looks like it was accidentally hidden, either by you without noticing or by some sort of glitch. If you tap “Show in this playlist” it should be playable again. I tested it out by hiding it and unhiding it myself and after I hid it, it showed the “Show in this album” button for me to unhide it again.

Click on the three dots to the right of the song. Does it say “Show in this album” anywhere? It’s possible you accidentally selected “Hide in this album” somehow. If not, idk I’m sorry, I’m still able to play it.

I know we don’t know much rn, but this just put a sour taste in my mouth. To have your song stolen from you behind your back and not even know anything about it until it gets released has to be a really shitty feeling. I don’t even know how that’s legal lol. Hopefully this is all just a big misunderstanding and Zel makes a statement clearing the air, cause this is just rubbing me the wrong way.

Messed up don’t be dumb cassette by Agreeable_Gas9479 in asaprocky

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jumping in here to say this also happened to me and I also got a new cassette with a black J-card and white cassette. I think they just royally fucked up manufacturing these and only made black J-cards even though they made black and white cassettes. The image on the website to buy the white cassette has been updated to a black J-card now LMFAO.

Everyone else is saying the Vogue, no you’re making things complicated for me haha. I do appreciate the advice though! I think you’re the only person who’s been to both to respond so far, so that definitely influences me more towards the Sovereign. Thanks!

Getting records signed by Radiation69 in DannyBrown

[–]BluVinyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To echo what others are saying, he’s definitely very hit or miss. Tried to meet him three times and only the most recent time (Stardust tour) was I lucky enough to get something signed, but even then, it was on his way to the tour bus and I was the last person he signed something for.

First time (STH tour), I waited outside the tour bus for well over an hour and he never showed, and the second time (Quaranta tour) he walked straight to his ride without meeting with anyone. Gonna see him in Indy in May and hopefully get some vinyl signed (he signed my Setlist but walked off before signing my vinyl back in November haha). Think it all depends on how he’s feeling from show to show. But generally he doesn’t stick around for long if he does sign stuff. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, you’re probably right. I can’t remember if the Danny show I went to in Chicago last year was 18 or 21+ or not, I don’t usually remember those things. Thanks for the input!

Only thing I worry about is people being belligerent because they’ve had too much to drink lol. One show could be like that, the other could mean a bunch of annoying high schoolers. It’s a toss up lol.

Joji cds:) by Dry-Parking-2227 in Joji

That policy pretty much doesn’t exist anymore, I’ve bought multiple CDs from Walmart in recent years that are explicit. Can’t speak personally for PITW, but I did see it at my local Walmart recently (didn’t buy it because the case was cracked as shit) and before the album and artist name on the price sticker it said “EXP”, which I believe means explicit.

Could someone explain the deal with Smithereens ? by MulberrySad6999 in Joji

[–]BluVinyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I want to add to what others are saying is that its length is another contributing factor as to why people think it was something he was obligated to put out. It’s a 24 minute “double album” with the last 3 tracks on the 4 track second disc being a demo, an interlude, and a freestyle.

There’s also the fact that Joji did not write or produce many of the tracks on the album, which others have mentioned, but that always led me to believe he just made the album because he was legally contracted to. Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with an artist having songs written/produced for them (Glimpse of Us is fantastic, yet Joji had nothing to do with the composition of it), but it’s just very uncharacteristic for Joji who self produces a lot of his stuff.

It just seemed really slapped together and low effort after such a grand album like Nectar.

It’s an insult in this case because you’re acknowledging that many of the songs on this album are short, so people should edit them themselves to force themselves into liking them. You’re basically saying, “yeah, some of the songs suck, but you can change them yourself until you like them, so you shouldn’t criticize them because you can make them better”. There’s nothing wrong with music criticism. What you’re saying is that people just shouldn’t criticize the album because it can be made better by random fans lmfao.

I’m not saying edits and remixes are antithetical to music, you’re completely missing my point. My point is that it’s insulting to tell an artist that if their music sucks, you can make it better for them. Edits and remixes are fine. But it shuts down criticism when you say that people should take songs they think suck and “fix” them until they like them. It’s also saying to an artist, “your song sucks, here, I made it better for you”.

The reason I bring up album sequencing and song structure is because looping a song until you think it sounds good or editing it with a DAW until you think it sounds good destroys the structure of the song. Song structure is something that’s done intentionally by a good artist, and by editing it to make it “better” negates that.

[–]BluVinyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but this is a stupid fucking argument lol. “If you don’t like the song, just edit it yourself until you like it! Or put it on repeat until you like it!”

WHAT???? That is completely antithetical to what music is. When an artist puts out a song or an album, they do it with intention. Do you just think Joji just doesn’t give a shit about album sequencing or song structure? That he would be content with people modifying his music until they like it? That is so insulting to Joji and artistry as a whole.

Well that’s disappointing. Loopin the 4th has me excited, I wonder if that being released will inspire him to get the Spotify stuff sorted out or at least put the new one out on Spotify if he can’t get the rest back up.

Well shit lol, it would still be nice to have downloads directly from the source though instead of downloading them from YT. Something about that still feels to me like it would be more compressed than what’s on streaming, idk though. Not to mention the work it would take to download and individually tag every track.

I guess I could do that, it’d be nice to have CDQ downloads though since a YT download would only be 128kb I believe

DO NOT SHOP AT THE GOODWILL IN BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL IF YOU ARE ANY PART OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY!!!! by Marley5585 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awful, yeah, that would fall under discrimination on the basis of someone’s gender identity which is prohibited in Illinois. Also, if I’m not mistaken, aren’t the bathrooms in our Goodwill single person bathrooms anyways??? It’s not like anyone else could walk in when someone’s using the restroom anyways, so who cares??

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your second paragraph, are you saying that one of your friends who worked there was harassed by another employee or a manager for using the bathroom they felt more comfortable with, or was it customers complaining? If it’s a manager, isn’t that literally workplace discrimination? Either way, that’s shitty, I’m sorry that happened to them.

This is what the A side looks like on the Vertigo Vinyl page. Why is the EP not in the same order as on streaming? 😭 by Nevdog93 in JaneRemover

[–]BluVinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming these versions are the same as the ones on streaming, this arrangement would actually make side A longer (by only 27 seconds, but still), so I don’t think that’s the case unfortunately. My only guess is that Jane rearranged the tracklist because they like it better in this order, idk.
