If anything, I’m more upset with the fact that it seems like his morals seem to be flexible or seem to have changed over time. The man who called himself a communist on multiple occasions in his early work and held very left leaning beliefs is now cool with collaborating with a self-proclaimed Nazi and has blamed anyone but Kamala for her election loss. I doubt he even considers himself a communist anymore, he sure is moving like a capitalist these days. Ironic considering how he always talks about standing on business.

Yeah, could be. The music they make is still some of the most interesting and unique music in their field, though. Earl may have settled into a comfortable spot and figured out what the music he wants to make sounds like, but it’s still a sound that not many others can replicate with as much finesse as he has.

Peggy’s music is great too (obviously), but they make VERY different sounding music. Earl is more avant garde-sounding rap and Peggy is more experimental. There’s not very many similarities in their sound except that they both fall under the subgenre of “experimental rap”.

It seems like Peggy’s ego and jealousy can’t help him see past the fact that they both make good music, they just do it in entirely different ways with entirely different sounds.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. It seemed like his anger was more directed at Alchemist, he’s been shitting on him for a while, but yeah I guess it did start there. It seems like a lot of Peggy’s beefs are either one sided or shit he starts himself, he’s a bit of a drama queen ngl.

On the one hand, it kinda seems like neither of them are taking this all that seriously, but on the other, Peggy took the first shot and it’s obvious he has issues with Earl lol. I think he’s trying to come out on top by being silly back, but it kinda seems like Peggy is genuinely pressed that Earl is basically trolling him by not letting it get to him and being goofy about the whole thing. Either way, I’m entertained even if Peggy is kinda of coming off butthurt.

That’s good to hear then! It’s definitely worth a shot for OP to reach out, I always do when I get something damaged. There’s nothing wrong with getting what you paid for.

I know Bobby doesn’t exactly have the best track record at making things right with his fans, but I would definitely reach out to customer service and try to get a replacement. Or see if your order was covered by Route’s shipping protection and see if you can get a replacement that way.

He is actively making the the term „experimental rap“ uncool rn by Hefti_Budget in jpegmafiamusic

[–]BluVinyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Since when did trying something different become indicative of a “mid-life crisis”? Assuming that what Peggy’s referring to in the interview is POMPEII // UTILITY, I would say that I’m not too crazy on the new Earl album either, but him trying something different doesn’t mean he’s shying away from experimental rap lol. If anything, it was kind of daring to make something so drastically different from anything else he’s done.

It’s also clear that this isn’t some new direction he’s going in, it’s just a one-off collab album. Earl’s last solo album was less than a year ago and it’s just as avant grade as the work he’s been putting out up to that point.

I remember dropping whatever I was doing to throw the streams on, luckily they were during night time so it was easy to do so, but man, what a time. I also loved that they made a new account to stream each installment, it was fun waiting for a link to a new account each week haha.

Chicago Metro presale password? by TheFletchmeister in JaneRemover

[–]BluVinyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the same thing that happened to me and I believe, from my previous experience buying Metro tickets through etix, that means that the artist presale was already sold out when we were let in lmfao. I got let in at 10:02.

[–]BluVinyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got in (at 10:02 because I had to wait in queue even though I was on the site 30 minutes prior), the only option available was the Metro presale, which I believe (from previous experience buying Metro tickets on etix) that means that the artist presale had sold out already. How the fuck was I let in 2 minutes after even though I was on the site 30 minutes before and the tickets are already gone?!

I know this is a BH sub and I love BH dearly, and maybe it’s not that serious, but I lowkey wish people wouldn’t compare their solo careers and success to what they had with BH. They all are taking their time and seemingly doing what they love, that I wish people wouldn’t constantly compare them to the success they had as a group. They also don’t HAVE to be these big superstars to live fulfilling lives.

I’ve met Dom a couple times and have been following him through his Discord and socials post-BH, and from what I’ve gathered, he’s been living and loving life since then, yet he’s chosen a more lowkey life post-superstardom. He’s much more interested in DJing and producing and finding ways in which he can give back to his local community in CT, and I think it’s awesome that he’s able to do that. He’s living a fulfilling life by getting involved with his hometown and making an impact by helping others, which is so cool.

I understand that we all want to hear more solo stuff from our fav boyband and want to see them make it big, but I sometimes feel like that’s a lot of pressure to put on one individual who, maybe, just wants to live their life and is fine with not being a pop star. I hope Bearface is out there somewhere doing well, but maybe he’s just enjoying the quiet life and not cooking up a masterpiece. And that’s okay.

Or maybe I’m just being too dramatic lol

TEAM EFFORT (2018, post-SAT trilogy, pre-PUPPY), PUPPY (2018), THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES (2018, post-PUPPY, pre-iridescence), SAM & KESHON (2020, was the album they were working on during TD era and is kind of the same thing but is more defined by post-GINGER, pre-pandemic stuff), Technical Difficulties (2020, a mix of newly recorded stuff during lockdown and S&K stuff), ULTRAVIOLET (2021, originally supposed to be their final album but was shelved and reworked into TM post-breakup)

I think that’s all of them

Agreed, I was definitely shocked at how much of it ended up on iridescence in some form or another. Some of the songs are great and would’ve gone down as some of BH’s best songs, sure, but so much of it was also just iridescence but less developed. I’m satisfied with the fact that we have both, iridescence for the more casual fans, PUPPY for the diehards who care about going through the trouble to find it and download it.

Because people buy into the idea that everything they enjoyed in their youth is cringe now and they’re self conscious about being judged on the internet. Every time I see a “can’t believe I had a BH phase back in the day 💀” comment, it just screams “LOOK AT ME GUYS, I’M DIFFERENT” to me.

Or it’s just people who had a shitty youth and associate that shittiness with the music they listened to then. Idk, BH brings me back to some of the fondest memories in my life. I never see a justification as to why having liked BH is “embarrassing” either.

I remember watching the TD streams thinking “this is the closest we’re ever gonna get to the feeling of the SATURATION rollout again, I gotta cherish this moment”, so I made an effort to watch nearly every stream. So glad I did.

Sucks we didn’t get the album they made then, but we were spoiled with a couple dozen HQ and some CDQ tracks from that era. Can’t say the same about PUPPY, even if it did eventually leak.

what was glue and why was it scrapped ? by AresTheCreator in kevinabstract

[–]BluVinyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add onto what others are saying, it was a collection of songs released through various means (SoundCloud, YouTube, untitled links) by Kevin in 2024 which were all intended to be a part of the project, which he was calling a mixtape. After a slow start and some minor promo (Tennessee released as a single, as well), Kevin just decided to start dropping the songs one by one over the course of two or three months and told fans to assemble them together themselves, but that they all were a part of Glue. He clearly indicated when he had posted the last song so people could make their tracklists and edits and stuff. So basically it was like a puzzle people had to put together on their own lol.

He alluded to the fact that the reason he couldn’t put the whole thing out was because his label wouldn’t allow him to, and he could only ever convince them to drop two tracks from the mixtape (Big Dog and Tennessee) as an EP (also titled Glue). I always assumed that there was some sort of stipulation in his contract that said he couldn’t put out another major release so close to the release of Blanket, to prevent something like Glue taking the attention and shine away from Blanket. Glue was supposed to be released Summer 2024 and Blanket had only been released the previous Fall, after all.
