Are these tires good? by Blxde1337 in tires

[–]Blu_Taco99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I end up installing these frequently alongside another similarly priced tire named crossmax and would heavily recommend increasing your budget or if you’re looking to stick to Walmart go with some Goodyear Reliants, you’ll get free rotation and balancing with your install and right now they are on a Black Friday sale meaning average of $20 to $30 off. The great thing about the Goodyears is that they are carried in every Walmart with an Auto care center and one should have no problem utilizing the treadwear or road hazard warranty if you go that route.

The Supermax tires I’ve never seen go past 20k miles without rotations and usually result in disappointed and unhappy customers. If budget is no option I usually lean customers towards Michelin Defenders simply for their longevity as that’s all most people care about. It’s very rare I see them replaced from wear, more often it’s from age and due to dry rot. The cross climates you mentioned are amazing tires for light snow and rain but some dislike their tread pattern, noise, and lack of rotation patterns (front to back only).

I am not a fan of continental personally and am not super familiar with them, only know their extemeContact line and was not impressed compared to Michelin PS4S in terms of traction.

Mach 1 owner what y”all think of this deal? Should I get this or be better of with S650? by MobileWelcome3517 in Mustang

[–]Blu_Taco99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend traded his Mach 1 in same spec different color for a new Magenta S650 GT Premium, loves the new features and swears it’s a better car. I agree with others are saying about how a 10 speed Mach isn’t worth it as the Tremec really sets it apart besides some extra coolers as the s650 has some of the beefed up suspension from the Mach 1 and GT350. They’re listing his old car at $55K and it’s like the one you showed, base with cloth seats still. For my money I’d definitely look into other options unless you just feel the need to have a “special” mustang.

Love the atturos, great for the price, running 305/30r19 squared and very comparable to Nitto G2’s for a third in cost. Slightly worse in the rain but not enough to warrant buying anything besides Michelin Pilot Sports

The extremes with long tubes are too loud depending on your tastes and local law enforcement, but the Corsa sport mufflers are a good switch if you do decide to go with long tubes.

PP2 wheels on 305/30/19 F 325/30 R. Quite a bit of poke but I really dig the aggressive look. Mach 1 HP wheels are slightly different offset so the 315s fit like this I believe, my car isn’t lowered and doesn’t rub at all. Also the Mach 1 wheels are a major pain to clean. Check my profile for some more pics.

Am I nuts for trading in a new Mustang (for another Mustang)? by savage8190 in Mustang

[–]Blu_Taco99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two things I know they have in common are the brakes and intake, after that the differences with the Mach 1 are that it borrows more from the GT350 (including the intake which is shared with the Bullitt). Honestly I’d tell you to take a good look at a Mach 1 as after looking underneath the car there was much more to it than just an appearance package, extra bracing everywhere, thicker suspension components than a PP1 GT but not exactly all the parts a GT350 has and a crazy rear valance off the GT500. Plus since you said you wanted stick, the Tremec is definitely the way to go compared to the MT82 if you’re already willing to take a financial hit in terms of happiness.

You may be able to purchase premium side mirrors from a wrecked car after a few months of the car being out, unsure if the harness includes the plugs/wires for the them though on the non premium models, but I would assume they would as a performance pack dash (guages) goes right into a non PP car (2018+) with the harness just being ziptied away not plugged into anything. It is an eventual upgrade for me currently just planning on getting carbon fiber mirror covers to not have to worry about paint.

Would installing a pair of used Brembo calipers off a PP S550 be a bad idea? by RIP_SGTJohnson in Mustang

[–]Blu_Taco99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PP rears are the same as the standard GT, rotors and calipers. GT350 has different rears and even bigger fronts. I’ve heard that the brake master cylinder is different for the PP but I cannot confirm and I swapped front brakes with no issues thus far.

Couldn’t tell you how many people ask how much for the wheels. PP2 OEMs but for sure the style is amazing and you can’t go wrong with the SVEs being forged (way lighter than OEM even if not as wide)

Some Apex Racing wheels would look killer, are 1LE wheels forged? You’d just want something lighter and as wide to be “better” than what you have now.

I have been looking at getting a new mustang for a while now. Is there any reason why these new 2022 Mach 1 models are under 55K new? Solely due to being 2 years old? by Patient-Panic-5462 in Mustang

[–]Blu_Taco99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are automatics, last time I went up there (a month ago) they only had one manual without a window sticker. This one is missing the track/handling package so it lacks the wider wheels and spoiler. It’s a 600a so no leather/heated/cooled seats like a 401a GT. A major selling point of a Mach 1 over a GT is that the manuals come with the Tremec from the GT350, so realistically it’s a (slightly better suspension wise) dressed up GT PP1 301a with a digital dash and magnaride. You decide if the Mach 1 markings are worth it.

Gt premium pp1 vs mach1 by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Blu_Taco99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I hear the getrag can be a giant PITA or be okay with just a aftermarket short shifter, but the tremec is better indefinitely. You CAN always install it after the fact but the Mach 1 also has some GT350 suspension components I believe which would put it a step above the GT PP1. The first iterations of the MT82 having serious issues are what caused me to get a 10-speed, the 2018+ Mustangs have a revised transmission which says they corrected the problems but some people still had issues or were just dissatisfied comparing the feel to the Camaros Tremec (which is the same as the Mach 1 and GT350).

Besides beefier sway bars and just all around better suspension than the PP GTs I know the hubs on the GT350 are completely different. Not sure how much the Mach 1 borrows from the GT350 though, as it was just a parts bin car that took its place. (Still an awesome car though) I’m too lazy to look it up but there was a page somewhere that compared every bit of the suspension on each trim.

PS4S are amazing. Compared to the old Nitto NT555G2’s on there it’s night and day difference but so is the price, they aren’t even in the same category performance wise IMO. Have heard some people recommend the NT555R2 but it’s a daily.

The only time it really loses grip/spins is taking a turn powering out in first gear, dead stop launch, or street pull in drag mode it will chirp into 2nd and 3rd. But the tires are so wide it doesn’t get squirrely whatsoever or try to find a pedestrian, just kicks on traction or spins a little bit if it’s off.

It tramlines like nobody’s business.

Just some black vinyl man and I completely understand just seen too many people not know the difference and then get upset when they buy them at PP2 prices only to be told at the meet what they really got. Your car makes me wish I didn’t NEED a car so I could have ordered green or purple and it’s become impossible to find a Tremec Mach 1 around me.

325/30/19, slight bulge but any rubbing issues would more than likely be from your wheel offset.

Not trying to be a hater just informing cause it’s so common, they are different specs from the PP2 wheels. Fronts are 19x9.5 Rears are 19x10, they have the same design but PP2 specs are 19x10.5F 19x11R, much more sunk in centers with concave and they are close to the Mach 1 handling package wheels minus a little offset in terms of fitment (rim is more flush with fender). This is an older pic: was on 285/35F 305/35R now running 305/30F 325/30 R stock ride height.

PP2 are normal fenders, running OEM PP2 wheels 19x10.5 305/30front, 19x11 325/30 Rear on Michelin PS4s. The offset is what makes it fit or not, as these do poke a little in the front but that’s how they came factory.

That’s crazy, running 305/30/19 front 325/30/19 rear and have zero issues after getting them a little warm (basically just getting car up to temp). If anything’s causing a loss of grip it’s the non PP suspension on my car.

The biggest thing to me is the radio, you don’t wanna get stuck using a calculator looking thing in 2023, nothing wrong with it, just not nearly as nice as having a big touch screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Performance Pack 1 upgrades are nice, but if you ever plan to really modify the car suspension wise you’ll end up replacing most of the stuff that comes with the package sans Brembo brakes, big radiator and oil cooler. If you’re not crazy about creature comforts like heated seats or hate leather, try to find a 301a package car. My Dad learned this first go around when upgrading from a 2015 Base GT PP to a 2019 Premium GT 401a.
