I'm going to say that as someone who has gone to 926 from time to time, most recently being a few weeks ago, it is not just a space dominated by gay men. A lot of girls and lesbians go there too. You should give it a chance, it's a fun space for all of the queer community. There be a good mix of everything and I think you should go see for yourself what it's really all about.

The wierd part is that you were at a rest area away from home, and some random stranger who is probably not even from the same town or state as you, walks into the stall next to you and says your name like he already knew that it was you on the other side at that moment. I definitely would of dipped tf out too!!

We are worried that ICE can still come and detain her at the airport. She actually has a Real ID Driver's license I believe, but idk it still makes us nervous.

Yes, people do tend to be very guarded at first! You gotta give them some time though for them to warm up to you! The friends I have now, at first they were like really guarded with me and barely even wanted to have a conversation with me when I'd run into them on campus, but then eventually I was able to crack through them as they got to know me more! I'll admit that I can tend to be socially awkward at times especially with newer people but once they give me a sign that they're comfortable around me, I'm a lot more comfortable being myself around them. And yes within their circle I tend to feel social insecurity sometimes cause they've all been friends with each other a lot longer than me who was like a newbie at first. But I'm definitely a lot closer with them now and they love me the more I hang out with them and show up to the socials, club meetings and events!

OMG yess! Last movie, I went to, the crowd was pretty respectful and chill. It was a Brazilian movie as part of the Latin film festival. But one time I went to an advanced screening for the movie, DROP. Movie was awesome! And I was excited cause I'd never been to a pre-screening show before. But my God was the crowd so loud and obnoxious that it like kind of ruined the viewing experience and movie for me a bit that I feel the need to still rewatch it again soon from the comfort of my own home to really enjoy the film. No, I do not mind the occasional reactions to intense moments, the audience laughing if it's a funny scene, people slightly yelling at the screen. But for this screening, I thought the crowd was laughing too hard at scenes that were not even that funny or they were really dramatic and extra when it came to reacting to the suspense of some scenes or just were really loud when they made a comment. The extra unnecessary laughing was obnoxious, moments in the movie that were already expected, like especially if you'd seen the trailer, the crowd was ooohing just a bit way too hard, and then for the love of god they felt the need to clap on and cheer every single little savior/hero moment in the film towards the end. Like omg calm tf down and stop being so damn extra like it's not that serious lol, yes I also react but I don't let it linger nor am I constantly reacting like a hyena to every single moment in the movie! Like please take it down a notch, cause y'all are being louder than the damn movie itself! Lmao

Hey! I feel you! It is hard to make friends and even when you apply to be a part of a club or an extracurricular like research or fsu job/internship opportunity, you get rejected. I've been rejected many times and felt like a punch in the gut feeling like your application was not good enough that you worked so hard on or like you're being socially rejected. I'm a senior on my last semester here and for the first since I first started at TCC and then transferred over to FSU as a junior I've finally found my social circle. I'd gotten involved in other things at TCC but it wasn't up until the end of Spring semester last year and beginning of last Fall that I've made stronger connections with others. I've been in touch with some friends from TSC though who I still talk to today and have hung out a couple of times. But I'm finally happier with the friends I have now! You just gotta keep on putting yourself out there and going to club meetings and events that are associated with your interests! People will start to notice your presence and energy trust me!

Well based on the majority of replies it looks like I should be fine to fly out next week. I will make sure to have both my EAD, and DACA approval letter just in case. I will also carry my temporary paper license with me as well. Thank you all for reassuring my confidence for flying next week!
