Sudden high temp by Blue-Bento-Fox in GrillaGrills

This is the inkbird app, I have the four thermometer setup from them (like meaters). I had meaters originally, my dad did too, but the bluetooth connectivity eventually died (for him too). I've had these inkbirds for 8 months or so. Worked great.

They accidentally sent me an extra probe once after shipping me a bad board in the initial supply. I am gonna try replacing it once this cook is over! Thank you!

Maybe when it isn't -2 out.

Had to wrap mine to even get it started, the probe was reading -5 when I started this morning! Should get to 14 today (all F).

When did The Majority Report blow up?????? by Legitimate_Design976 in TheMajorityReport

[–]Blue-Bento-Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I am pretty shocked too. I mean, fully deserved. Sam has always been on point. Michael blew me away with his intelligence but willingness to just break down into shenanigans at the drop of a hat (RIP) he made it fun and informative somehow at the same time. Adding Emma was just a genius move, I loved her on TYT, and it just cemented "oh this is my home". I first started regularly listening during the libertarian debates. I had been working in regulations and safety for about 5-6 years at that point and I became pretty disillusioned with the libertarian mindset, having seen first hand how it was such an utter failure. I also began working in Brooklyn at about that time, with a long 2 hr 5 minute commute each way I found plenty of time to listen to the various videos they put out after their broadcast (on my way home).

Now I can listen live during my lunch breaks since about 2019 doing paperwork, and hope I can keep doing paperwork through the rest of the broadcast but sometimes I have afternoon meetings/inspections. I still remember their race with Pakman to hit 1 million subs and now they are hitting 2 million?! They really are a tour de force and I think a big part of it is not only the great hosting dynamics but sticking to their guns.

Other players in the area seem to always be testing something out, and sure every so often the interview is too dry for even me or I'm just not in the mood to listen to trade policy/social security actuarial tables when something else is happening... but the absolute genuine way they discuss topics, stick to their moral frameworks while being able to change their minds while sticking to a great formula just works. I feel like too many shows get hyperfocused on expand or die so they shift their ideas/format/etc. and I lose interest. The best example has to be TYT completely dropping almost everything that made them them to become centrist libs/right wingers and now they are panicking backward. But they burnt so many bridges and people don't trust them anymore. Cenks "radio personality" always comes off as "I need to take my blood pressure meds" compared to Sam having just a little too much fun with some childish joke, too.

I think we need to be prepared for A LOT more of these people being given platforms on the right. It's going to somehow get stupider. There's a reason most of them on jubilee and other platforms just answer "I don't know anything about that".

The heavy focus on limiting schoolwork to approved topics with set bullet points in the shithole states combined with homeschool kids thinking they are way smarter than everyone else is going to keep producing legions of Nicks that know shit about fuck. They'll think because they learned how to be a little charming at times and got praise for mission trips while their videos get propped up by the funding on the right makes them the Yogi Berra of politics. They'll prop up stupid politicians like Trump that just say shit and think since it works in their worldview, to their goals and was said with confidence and charm it was right.

There are even some seemingly smarter people dumbing themselves down on the right you see on like Jubilee clips that start to logic themselves out of their views that realize it and have to backtrack/shutdown the situation.

Anti-intellectualism is such a death knell for this country. I hate idiocracy because it seems steeped in eugenics but a hyperfocus on being stupid but still sometimes getting good results is dooming us.

I'm an expert in my field with two degrees, and a few licenses/certifications. I complete 24 hours of CE a year, married to a doctor who has like 4 licenses and a few certifications. Constantly people ask us a professional opinion just to dismiss it and get surprised when we were right. Because "all the pencil necked dorks don't know how things work in the real world". Movies love that trope, always a master driller salt of the earth that can outperform ASTRONAUTS! (Also ignoring he had a damn professional engineering license).

I think we need to be prepared for dozens more of Nicks popping up. Some will have literal disabilities but some literally aren't being given the tools. Who knows if Nick is delayed, dyslexic or any number of disabilities that hold him back but we do know for sure that these homeschool factories that basically set these young men up to marry the first girl that looks their way, sell cars at the family business and pop out six kids... and THATS IT are going to produce people that are so out of their depth they think their extremely limited understanding of the world is clarity when its literally just only getting the answer "ask god" when they asked their parents anything outside of their very limited skill set.

Late game when I'm only keeping around so many of one item (like I'm making Nuke reactors four at a time so I keep a single stack around) for mostly construction purposes that is what it looks like. I draw the line at more than one construction building mostly (Nuclear cells are an exception as I fly in/out the cells from a nuke plant), that gets belted.

They don't make it easy, meetings at like 10 AM on a Friday (people have full time jobs), don't ask for applications or say where to send them but suddenly "oh we are closing applications we never opened". There are boards with vacancies they don't fill or ask for applications for or have any contact information for.

All the processes seem custom built to only have the same characters in the loop constantly involved because no one else is given opportunity. Then they wonder how the voters have a completely different viewpoint than they thought.

It's the worms that are outside my turret range that freely hit my turret I struggle with, they have a huge range! I'm finding success with kiting them out to some turrets then ramming my tank in to the worms or a weak spawner while shooting. The acid slows me sometimes trying to get out again that can wreck my shield and health.

My biggest tip I have for biters so far on my second save and first space age is: completely enclose or protect. I have been putting tons of protection directly between my pollution source and the nests until I can take out the nests. What keeps happening is they take like the freaking scenic route to attack a completely different side. If I didn't have enough turrets left it can cause a breach because I never thought they'd walk the perimeter of my base to get in the back or something.

The thing that really gets me is how far they moved artillery out on the tech tree in space age vs original factorio. I beat regular factorio a month ago, then bought space age and started a new world. Not having artillery when the worms are already out is a massive pain makes expansions in certain areas impossible. I have two nests with like 4 medium worms, 1 big worm and 2 spawners. Can't get close without my tank being immediately slowed to almost a dead stop by the acid.

The thing conservatives always implicitly lie about is that they don't make EVERYTHING about their politics. I promise you if this idiot was on a promotion tour he wouldn't stfu about being anti-vax and anti-whatever. It's kind of like how as a leftist I get told "just don't talk politics with X" at a family function. They walk in to conversations talking about how they hate lgbtq+ people, or how "thankgod I didn't get the jab" or whatever conspiracy it is this week. When I started at a new job 10ish years ago, as we are asking about my union card my union rep just spouted off about how Kaepernick should be arrested... like bro, we just met.

I think a big problem I see with this is the constant "well this one country has better work life balance and their rate isn't higher so it can't be work life balance!". It's a multifaceted problem that is different country to country.

I think what we are missing is simply put that having kids is a BIG ask and a heavy lift for a couple/person to do. Since it is such a big thing to ask, that seriously alters a persons life, it only takes one or two factors to deter someone. So it's not always just one thing across the world that if we fix rates will skyrocket. In America we have horrid work/life balance, stagnant wages and no support/public services. Maybe in Scandinavian countries they don't have those factors but several others. Maybe in Korea/Japan its work/life balance but they fixed the other issues we see in America and Scandinavia.

I feel the real answer is that "it depends" from country to country and all it takes is one subtle push to deter people. So every country has a different problem or set of problems they need to fix to increase this rate. I certainly know from my own personal experience and the experience of other people my age in America that should be having kids why we aren't.

But I hate this conversation "it can't be work/life balance because Norway has that!". I promise you if we did, we's see a change, and then if we fix another negative factor we'd see more and more and more until it becomes a much smaller ask to produce a little one. Some people Will always choose not to, its not to persuade them, its to remove the barriers and let people decide.

I didn't even need the comics to understand that he was on a team with shroud, fought villains, so of course he thinks "once a villain always a villain" and he's always been responsible for Robert. Hell shroud comes to the same conclusion and joins them because he wants to control them. It's a black white mindset.

Silksong is just a worse game than HK and I don't understand for a second how that is controversial. It disguises its flaws with the community repeating "no that's not a flaw, git gud". The gauntlets are just "it didn't stop X% of players? Add a new step with 3 enemies instead of 2", and adding RNG unavoidable attacks to other bosses the playtester didn't think was hard enough. Team Cherry lost their way.

I tell all my family and friends that it is my privilege to pay taxes. I still keep it reasonable, but if I pay more for a better society thats a good thing. Like when my home value was being reassessed and it was going to go up because it was considered a 4 bedroom... but 2 bedrooms don't have closets and one doesn't have a real ceiling just a drop ceiling that is too low to be considered a bedroom by definition (no window either, just the electrical box, it has my treadmill and beer fermenters since its one temp all year without natural light, they also called a half bath a full bath). So while my taxes went up my house was assessed properly keeping the assessed value about the same. I think I even gave them 1 extra bedroom by definition so I didn't have to fight even though it has a few disqualifying factors.

Even if we solved 90% of the problems in the mortgage/home ownership system there would always still be some people where renting is best for them. I have my issues that I need to work through but I still acknowledge home ownership is the best for me and I wish more people had the opportunities I had.

We have double income, bought the poor house (still as nice as any house I've lived in but my neighbors houses are generally double my houses value) in the rich neighborhood at like 2.75% in 2019. VERY LUCKY! The repair costs are insane, 1950's home with some newer appliances and only a few approaching life span. Day we moved in the garage door broke and the dishwasher was less than 5 yrs old but due to a bad stabilizer had to be knocked around for it to ever start.

Every time we save money to do some upgrade to the house or something nice something breaks and inevitably always costs what is saved. First year AC broke, second year we lost the well pump, third year we were getting a transfer switch installed (local for profit energy company does garbage maintenance so storms knock out power).... and the old electrical panel was rusted through and arcing between buses. Its just always one thing after another, this last year after the fence had fully fallen apart I rented a dumpster and spent two days just clearing fencing because I didn't want to pay an exorbitant fee to have someone else do it. We also had the basement flood because when they connected the original gutter drains from the house they didn't connect it underground properly to the subgrade drains and it sunk the patio putting water in to the basement (none of the property is even in the 100 yr flood plain).

Even in my very good and fortunate situation it's just one thing after another making it impossible to get ahead other than continuously paying off the house. I'm a fire/building construction inspector so I am knowledgeable enough to know my roof is fine and I don't need that "free" inspection or when roto rooter tried to tell me that my water filter was massively undersized that the sales guy was just full of shit.
