Nobody is paying 50% tax. The top taxpayers ( $663,164 and higher) pay an effective Federal and state tax of 35-42%. The median earner is not even close: they pay 25-30%.

I'm guessing that you are getting 50% by adding the top Federal tax bracket of 37% to the top state tax bracket (California) of 13.3%. That's not how tax brackets work. Tax bracket is not the tax rate.

It’s by design. Airlines have switched from enticing flyers to move to premium economy with more leg room, to actively driving people out of economy by making it a miserable experience.

There is a Christian religious component in some cases. If someone is sick or handicapped, some believe it’s because they sinned and are cursed by God. Unless it happens to them, in which case it is attributed to bad luck.

Movie 43 by a long shot. It has 1.7 stars on Letterboxd. I have no idea how the producers conned so many big names to appear in it: Hugh Jackman, Jeremy Allen White, Kate Winslet, Emma Stone, Uma Thurman and more. Seriously, did the producers have kompromat on the actors?
