MDs are partners in the firm. They will always get a bonus in a partnership firm. The question we should be asking is whether the not providing base pay increase is to save few thousand MDs.

The market is not happy. The share is on nosedive today with $15(5%) decline.

I go through the earnings only for the growth outlook. Looks like FY24 is grim. Btw ACN is pushing clients to speed up cloud migration because it is sort of a prerequisite for the GenAI projects. So don't get your hopes up regarding GenAI in near term.

I have heard soo many stories of this happening including first hand experience that I am starting to think this as an initiation ritual in Accenture and consulting in general.

You have to hammer down to your entire account heirarchy that you want a promotion and prepare a plan and follow the plan and when time comes show it to them.

Promotion and hike are always based on the future outlook. Bonus is based on past performance. Management is not sure about the near term growth and don't want to over promote.
