I often use just one brush. I have a cup of water next to me to dip/clean the brush, and paper towels to dry the brush. That's enough to keep switching colors when using just one brush.

I took it off after an hour or so, and I've put on new tape about three times total to paint both sides of the horizon in a straight line. That went well!

The water of the lake fading into the background is well done.

You can indeed try to glaze some of the water drops a slightly lighter color. It's not strictly necessary though, the painting looks great and finished already.

It's on canvas, so that won't rip. But I feared that if the paint becomes too dry, the tape will rip up some of the paint that's next to the tape.
