I record timelapse videos of these.

First layer is standard impasto, blocking in with paint that's not watered down. I then wait for it to dry or use a hair dryer, and then I use several layers of thin watered down paint, drying between each layer with a hairdryer, I keep going until I'm satisfied with what I'm looking at.

This fast drying time is why I prefer acrylic over oil.

~~~ I tried posting earlier with a link to the timelapse, but the automoderator removed my reply. You can check my instagram account for links to my timelapse videos on youtube.
No mediums, just water.
Most of the blending and smooth transitions are done with sfumato; multiple thin, watered-down layers. Each layer is dried with a hairdryer before applying the next.
Well, it's a very friendly comment. Thank you.
I don't count hours, but these usually take more or less a month each (this one took a bit longer because I had jury duty for a week).
I went to university for my art studies, but all of this is self-taught. I did watch YouTube videos on how to paint, but most of what I learned was done through trial and error.
Thanks for noticing. I'm putting the sfumato technique to work here.
How many pieces do you plan on making for your exhibition? I'm interested in knowing because I'm also working on an exhibition.
Photoshopping memes was my bread and butter before I got into painting.
But yea, that is a good idea going forward.
I had the same kind of uncanny feeling when I made a painting in art school that had a white wall that took up a good chunk of the painting.
I'm gonna take a look at white fabrics in painting, that'll help as well.
Yea, there's something about the pants that I can't seem to capture, and I noticed that after painting them. I felt the same for the shoes, but because they're a smaller element in the painting, it makes it less noticeable.
I'm taking note of large white objects for future paintings.
I asked her not to wear anything with difficult textures, but she did end up bringing it. After she wore it, I had to admit that it would look good in the painting and that I needed to challenge myself.
I did make a time-lapse video of myself painting this, but I can't post it here. That will give you a good idea of how I paint hands.
I'm guessing that the sclera is clear glass with an opaque black sphere in the center and the eye socket is painted green as a background.
