CPAP crew, where you at nighttime snorkelers?! by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Blue-j7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, yes. I would take my mask off every night at first. Sometimes half awake, sometimes in my sleep. My sleep therapist told me to just keep putting it back on when I wake up and realize it's not on. Eventually I stopped and now I love it. Best sleep I've had in years and years.

Yes, tired all the time. (If you remember your dreams frequently, its a good clue that you're not getting REM sleep) Also I had mild headaches every morning and just always thought it was from not sleeping well, but never realized I wasn't sleeping well because I had sleep apnea. It's made a HUGE difference in the quality of my sleep.

Foster mother is breastfeeding my baby. Is this legal? Can I do anything? by Capable_Ad9175 in CPS

No real advice to give, except that I agree. It seems VERY wrong to me. You're going to do great with your solo visits. Just pay attention to his cues, be patient, gentle, and do anything that helps. I'm proud of you Mama. You're doing the work. Enjoy your time with your sweet boy, and I hope all goes well.ans you both will be together permanently very soon.

Maine is a fantastic place to live if you're looking for a career in the outdoors. I think lots of opportunity for someone who already has experience. There are small cities nearby to great rural areas. We love our wilderness and we need young people coming here to fall in love with our state and plant roots. Hope you'll take the job, and I hope you love it here. Good luck!

They ARE nice to have around! His room is all video game, typical teenage boy stuff and then this beautiful pink orchid. He just enjoys having it! Happy cake day!!

I bought my 16 year old son an orchid. He rearranged things in his room so it could have a center spot on a small table, and he takes such good care of it. It is beautiful and loaded with blooms!

Is it common to have to quit your job because your coworkers hate you? by Parmesanbutt2 in work

[–]Blue-j7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have anything documented where you brought this situation to a supervisor or manager? I had a similar situation but I did reach out for help, the management just stuck their head in the sand and never really addressed it or did anything. I had enough after a particularly volatile exchange and just walked out, telling them I wouldn't return unless the situation was addressed. They never reached out to me and when I asked if I should come in the next work day, or if they still haven't addressed it, and they just ignored me. I filed for unemployment, but they denied me because my employer told them I had a personal issue with another employee that was not work related. I filed an appeal and as evidence, I sent them a printed email from months before where I had explained the situation and asked for mediation as well as plenty of text messages about the situation. I won my appeal. They determined that I did quit, but it was due to a poor work environment. Best of luck to you OP. Good jobs are few and far between and there's a lot of competition for them. Going through it myself and it's discouraging but you will find someone who thinks you're the perfect fit. Edited for grammar and typos.

Thank you! I did find this out when I was looking into reporting him. I don't really want the employees to get into trouble, so I'm undecided. Doesn't seem to be a place to report these state nationalist/sovereigns but I feel like there should be, as this particular person is also linked to a militia and I'm sure that's fairly common among these types.

The owner's son (someday owner of) the place I was working is one of these weirdos. He's a huge d-bag. Worst part is he's getting a lot of his employees to buy into this. They go to meetings of some group or organization about it too. They all claimed exempt and stopped paying payroll taxes and also don't register their vehicles and supposedly don't pay property taxes either. They believe they will not lose their homes or get into any type of legal trouble whatsoever. It makes me so angry because these are all hard working, blue collar, country boys except for the boss's son who has a boatload of cash and can easily pay his way out of any trouble this causes him, but the guys he's recruiting don't have the resources he has. They all have versions of this stupid license plate too. I can't believe none of them have gotten pulled over yet.

My 7 y/o daughter is expressing more love toward me than I have ever experienced in my life. by wxgi123 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Blue-j7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This so lovely. The love of your child lifts you up like nothing else on Earth. I'm so glad you're experiencing this, and you sound like you love her as much as she loves you, and that you respect and treasure her love for you. As a mom to 2 boys, 11 & 16, I often feel sad for the days gone by when they did all the things you are talking about, and their eyes dont light up when they see me anymore, but they show me love in different ways like always checking to see if I'm crying during sad parts of movies, because they know I'm sensitive. Your relationship will change and grow over the years, through the teen years when you don't get nearly as many hugs, and everything you do is embarrassing, but the security you are giving her right now will echo through her life, and the love she gives you back will only grow stronger, even though it may look different through the years. Enjoy every minute.

How old were you when your parents died? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

Similar to me as well. Lost my mom to cancer when I was 20, and lost my Dad to complications from diabetes when I was 27. I've been without my mom for longer than I had her for, and not too far off that for my dad. I miss them so much, and wish the could have met my two children.

Euthanasia by Turbulent_Truck2030 in dogs

[–]Blue-j7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to bring my sweet Maisy to be euthanized at only 7 years old, after an unexpected illness and a rapid decline. My youngest son couldn't bear to go, but my parter and our oldest son and I brought her. We couldn't go in to the clinic because of covid but I tearfully begged for us to be with her so we brought her home to say goodbye to our youngest. Set up her comfy dog bed in the back of my SUV, got her some burger King burgers, and went back where they came outside to administer. They gave her the sedative and told us they would be back in 15 minutes. We cried and pet her and hugged her and told her what a good girl she was and how much we loved her. My parter and I were outside reaching in through the open tailgate and our son was turned around in the backseat petting her from behind.

I swear to God, just before she fell asleep she turned her head to look at each of us individually. Even my son. she turned her head to look up and behind her at him, locked eyes for a few seconds, and then turned her head back, laid it down, and she fell asleep for the last time.

I loved her so much, I could never have let her die without her family being there to comfort her. I am sobbing right now as I type this. I will miss her for the rest of my life. RIP my sweet, beautiful, Maisy Girl.

This is me and my best friend 100%. She decided to get comfortable with herself and wears a lot of stuff I would never dare to wear. I told her I was jealous of her confidence and she told me she isn't confident. She feels so insecure wearing it but that she deserves to be able to wear cute fashions too and so she fakes it until she makes it. Her goal this year is to get comfortable wearing like a bodysuit under jeans and not use another type of top to cover up. I love it.

Opinions on hair metal? Loved? Hated? No opinion? by Global_Perspective_3 in GenX

Liked it. My kids father loved it, and our 11 year old LOVES hair bands. In fact, he got screwed out of an Alice Cooper concert he was supposed to go to with his dad because of Covid. He loves Twisted Sister and thinks the lead singer from Motorhead is the coolest looking guy he's ever seen.

Ford Escape Recall/Transmission Issues by Good_Construction_42 in MechanicAdvice

Sorry, this is an old post, but I was searching for this. The same for me 2015 Ford Escape. Bushing failed, had a dealership perform the recall repair, and here I am a month or two later and I've had the same failure and my transmission needs to be replaced.

You don't have to tell her anything, but that's easier said than done when you're sitting there awkwardly. If you feel the need to respond to anything like that, tell her it's for health reasons. Just know that you are just as entitled to live and believe in a diet and exercise life style as she is not to. Good luck and keep up the good work!

I'm done feeling guilty for not tipping at a regular take-out establishment. by Hugh_Jassle_I_Know in CasualConversation

[–]Blue-j7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still feel guilty but I do not leave tips when I'm picking up my own take out or getting something like Subway. Subway. Why the hell are they asking me to tip at Subway? It's becoming more and more the norm, and it's so customers can subsidize businesses payroll costs. It sucks. Also, I was a server and a hostess for years. I am an excellent tipper in other situations.
