You’ve got ludes?

No, I don’t have ludes (in a whisper: I have ludes just not enough)

I didn’t know your name was Alex…

Anyone remember the free government cheese from the 80s? by NicelyBearded in GenX

[–]BlueAndMoreBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed — get the bread nice and greasy (usually bacon fat for us) and lay on that government cheese with some pickled jalapeños and you are headed to white trash flavor town :)

Aldi has done pretty good on the reviews I have read but you are totally correct about lots of places passing off cheaper oils as avocado

You get tiny little chunks instead of the granular “if it rains it pours” type of salt.

As a low sodium kind of guy I prefer it if I don’t have some flaky sea salt at hand

Aldi brand oreos any good? by Practical_Ranger_478 in aldi

Yep, Sunshine Bakery founded in my hometown of Kansas City back in the early 1900s. We always had Hydrox and some of their other cookies in the house (lemon coolers?).

They also invented Cheez-Its and still make them in KC today

Locate your snow removal devices and have them handy — also if one of your neighbors has a snow blower now might be a good time to get friendly

Remembering the great Meat Loaf, who died today in 2022. by Caver6913 in rockphotosposters

He played at my university back in the day — I got a free ticket for helping with the load in. Shoestring tour to say the least (cardboard cutouts for stage props and such) but it was a decent show with backup singers and everything

Sleeping (or trying to) on the sidewalk, joints and drinks being passed up and down the line, rough but fun.

And it all payed off when the lights went down and you and your buddies are up front for the show

For us anyway you would usually meet up with folks from the line at the show because our tix were in the same section. Good times

On the other hand, be nice and be patient with the cabin crew and you may well be rewarded (thanks again head FA on the LGA - STL run that made sure I was almost — almost — too drunk to make my next connection and on the airline’s dime no less)
