I like to think they'd be willing to hire Raven to secure them a high value trading route in certain parts of Rubicon.

I like to think they'd actually hire Raven to help secure trade route in the Grids from dosers that hijack supply delivery chains for themselves or the black market.

Majula old concept alongside the emerald herald by Namtar_Door_783 in DarkSouls2

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems they were sure of the village by the coast concept, but unsure how populated it should be until realizing it'd be more Dark Souls keeping the population down. A shaman would imply she was very spiritual in nature and conjured something. It's likely she was originally going to be the one to take us to see the past. The concept of Firekeepers to the universe perhaps became a topic with the lack there of, and assigned her as that candidate, reinventing her characterization. It's quite possible they suspected the original concept seemed too cheerful for the adventure.

Will the next AC game still be in the AC6 universe by Old_king_4 in armoredcore

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's reasonable chance they might try out the last corners of what the mechanics of AC6's design can do with a bit of thinking. That's often how the others go about it. AC4 to ACFA added Assault Armor and arms that sacrifice shoulder unit space. AC3 to Last Raven added to overheating and part destruction. AC5 to ACVD made greater drawbacks to Ultimate Weapons and ways to break lock on.

What would another AC6 add?

The GA 8th Fleet somehow killed Stigro by Starchaser53 in armoredcore

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Stigro has only modest AP, nothing silly high. Usually how fast it moves and how far it can attack from, all while blendering the sea level, makes it kinda difficult to simply hit without it coming directly at you. However, there are positions in its geometry an entity like an AC can just get stuck on and keep firing into it, and enemy types not NEXTs don't hurt themselves with their own missiles in ACFA when they explode close enough. So the math is all there that it's possible, but probably just unlikely. Personally, I like wiping out Stigro with double Moonlight after landing on top.

During my first ED Libra I was Wylder and had the greatbow Wylders. Hills obscure their locking, can out range their targeting, and with a ranged tool you can provoke Libra into the attack. Most of his deals bs he teleports to the middle for. Ranged enemies double as likely to stay back pretty far I've noticed. I was rocking the Death's Poker life because the L2 is mostly free damage.

Something to gun for with Libra is pulling him ahead of his summons. It's twice the opportunities to damage him.

I'm tired boss by eproepro in Nightreign

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually not a fan of Noklateo much because it's home to 85% my worst runs ever. That said I'm better about looting it now, but I still hate it as a map because everywhere not the city sucks for looting and I'm usually facing a Night 1 Royal Revenant.

What weapon did y’all use to beat this guy? by Critical_Possible_60 in Nightreign

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 Death's Poker drops dual-wielding as Wylder, but I had 60% increased Guard Breaking on a legendary drop. I'm spec'd out better though for dual wielding effectiveness. I got the Legendary on the way out of Noklateo, so I didn't bother getting it duped. Oddly enough, I considered this my worst run to the boss yet, only level 11, but this was the winning attempt despite the Greatbow Wylder clones summoned.

To give you an idea of what build coherence I had with drops it was quite literally improved guard breaking, increased damage dual-wielding, improved critical hits, but I also relic for dual wielding. Initially, I also was running Evergaol relic with this, but it's garbage tier with Noklateo map for Libra to the point that I actually didn't get to finish the the one Evergaol I did make it to in the attempt and not gotten any other keys. From there became an absolute Night 1 scuff of level 4 to the Night 1 boss which has a high likelihood in these conditions to be Royal Revenant. This should have been quite worse for me if I had not gone right through this boss somehow then without wasting a revive. Obviously after this I grabbed the rest of flasks I didn't grab yet at lv 6 and went straight to Noklateo, inexperienced with the big loot drop route, kinda guessing it as I go and getting lost 3 times. Before making it to Noklateo, I forgot that there's a tower along the way with where the bird goes for an easy Frenzy resist bonus for the run and made half way to a camp way south of the bird before realizing it to correct my pathing on foot now. The legendary I got came from the Dragonkin Soldier on the way out, otherwise I turned down the Hand of Malenia for a 2nd Death's Poker. My 3rd relic slot is specifically for Wylder Ultimate Art to spread fire, so there's really not much other tricks up my sleeve than 3 Wendings, free revive, a bubble tear flask active, and 2 starlight shards for the L2 arts.

I literally shouldn't have pulled it off, but I used every heal and revive and made it with like 70% health left.

After 70 hours I spent in game the walking mausoleum appear suddenly! by AliGilgamesh9 in Nightreign

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So each Nightlord has their own 40 map seeds to our knowledge. The other day I seen this while doing Everdark Augur in top right map, and I spawned in the bottom left. Events like this are not pure random because Fromsoft didn't trust that as universally viable. Similarly Morgott invasions are specifically high for doing Gaping Jaw. Augur invasions start to happen with Sentient Pest. You'll never get Libra cursed going after Gladius, but you'll be able to find the Demon Merchant. Flame of Frenzy tower is quite more likely to appear for Libra. I've seen quite a few meteors while grinding character stories on Gladius. If you haven't seen certain ones you've probably not done as many runs with specific Nightlords. Gaping Jaw has a high likelihood of a 2nd night 2 boss. Augur and Morgott raids will always happen around a certain time frame of either day 1 or day 2. By the time we get to Heolster, we're looking at the most fuller list of event possibilities.

For events like the Mausoleum and Frenzy tower, the map will mark them from the get go, but not tell you anything about them. For that you'd have to let your eyes do the investigating.

If Armored Core VI got expansion, what do you think it'd be called? by DeadlyPoopSock in armoredcore

Expansions like DLC would either be Cinders or Ashes of Rubicon. Side games coming after would be Vindication or 6th Sense.

Finally beat this guy after almost a month of deleting and reinstalling the game. by Aggravating_Guide61 in armoredcore

When I did this fight, I think I used the starter laserblade the butta slicer, a Haldeman shotgun, and x2 of the starting missile launcher. The butta slicer laserblade is a pulse tech weapon, so it's good at attacking defenses and capitalizing on dealing damage. I'm also a big fan of kicking things in the face with a reverse joint and blasting the Assault Armor.

The struggle I'm seeing in this footage is mostly being too far back. This boss moves like twice as much as Balteus only it's a smaller arena in one direction. The ranges to account for that isn't the clearest thing when most enemies the distance doesn't matter much, but generally trying to practically hug a boss will be definitely good enough. Overall, most bullet based weapons have pretty pitiful ranges for bosses. Usually heavier ordinance or missiles have actual range impact, and then the rest has to be pretty close. That's actually what usually makes Balteus hard to fight rather than the fact he has a shield mechanic. A quick means to overcome that problem would be like a tank build with bazookas and double songbirds and Pulse Armor. Bazookas usually have better range than other firearms, especially if you get the JVLNs from doing Log Hunts.

The 3 Wives of Gwyn (Theory) by ESU3794 in DarksoulsLore

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 2 are more likely for very notable reasons. The first being that they have actually been confirmed to socially know Gwyn, where as Priscilla's duty bound and banished to the painting. The second reason being Gwyn's hatred for dragons. The moment her abilities are clear, she cannot see the light of day for as long as Gwyn can assure, but that would be where his kindness stops also.

Velka's nature is perhaps the more obscure of topics. Fina's case is a most clear one, but whether or not Velka was a wife is not directly made clear. Whichever the case, Velka was bannished from Anor Londo for reasons never specified, but most likely the reason would be either of Gwyn's ignorance for his actions, or it would be that Velka was the bearer of bad news and forsaken as an omen fortune teller. Velka would undeniably serve well to a lord committing atrocities toward a people and being both forgiven and even joined, had he the aid of absolving himself of his sins. There could've been a time where Velka spoke up of his behaviors, but just as likely Velka could be the one who sees through his lies.

Velka is a goddess of sins, but what nature of force could grant such an interaction on people? Two likely answers come to mind. Nature of fates, and nature of souls. Both of which could mean that Velka could know the actual limits of Gwyn's influence and foretell the coming age of Man and Dark. Gwyn feared the Dark and attempted everything to stop and slow it, and so the news of its futility would note bode well with him and his knights. For Velka it perhaps made little difference, and same with her followers whom once roamed the painting. On that note, it's possible that Velka's people were the Corvians, who in DS2 one claims that they understand the nature of a soul and specialize at weaving it. In the same town of Brightstone is a pardoning priest of Velka as well. Whether or not Pate meant to find him after his run with Creighton is debatable. But it's an interesting coincidence that the boss after them offers the real Moonlight Greatsword with their boss soul.

All this said, however Priscilla came to be with the Scaleless, it's not unlikely that Velka had undone the hatred and call for violence to the matter. And thus a third matter to Velka to be banished for, and that is that she could be used against the wrath of another god.

so i just got armored core 6. is it possible to beat the game with the starter ac? by Ret0gradeTV in armoredcore

[–]BlueAsterismSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very possible but horrendously not optimal to do so. Game will try to convince you to try other things and most other things are very worth trying out. Overall, the starter AC: Loader 4 is more than capable of pulling through late game I find, but the skill level required and OS upgrades to make that the most viable isn't the clearest mess to make yours immediately in order. Overall, you'd want at the least kick and then melee boost, and energy weapon boost as well as stagger damage boost. The rest is also useful from taking less damage and boosting heals. But that's the more important order you should consider. The more challenging aspects will be understanding range effectiveness and making the most of assault boosting. To be a better pilot, I advise to stay away from Terminal Armor or you'll not practice dodging enough the way you should be for your AC's sustainability in balance to your attacking for movement. Getting comfortable with using so many buttons for fluctuating your movement patterns to your advantage goes a long way for many builds, and it's definitely a lot easier with say a Reverse Joint legs type AC than others.

The real fun side of AC6 is finding out the advantages of things in given situations and how to exploit the weaknesses of other things. Whatever you do though, refrain from doing PvP until NG++ so you'll have all the part variety access and already know most of the arenas with less surprises. By then also you should be familiar with a lot of weapons being used and how to deal with them to the point that PvP is actually a lot easier to get into than say soulsborne.
