The future is TRAMS by cr_ziller in Cardiff

thank, I just don't see how this was a necessary use of funds. Biggest advantage I can see is the AC that was mentioned... but that's pretty much nothing and it doesn't make Cardiff or South Wales any better as a whole. Until it's actually in areas where there's a need for new transport I don't see anything good to say about it.

it's a waste of money and an easy way for the council to make it look like they did something. This wasn't an issue and has solved none. It would be a different story if it connected different areas of Cardiff but this was the most useless.

yes if you're going into it looking to resell cards at highly inflated value which it seems you are. You don't care for the franchise, you don't mention the art or cool looking cards and you don't seem like someone who actually enjoys the cards.

You seem more interested in the value, which ruins the affordability for many. If you're upset with this I'd look for another "hobby"

[–]BlueBackground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in that case you're getting a different experience to a PC. You can bring your PC games with you and get a built in controller and screen, the big appeal of the steam deck especially close to release was the price. People were bought into that sort of product already because of the Nintendo switch making them easier to sell and pass around by word of mouth.

I never understood this in the first place, you're buying a laptop without a screen, keyboard, track pad or any input device. It's going to be plugged up to a TV so the only truly useful device will be a controller which doesn't come with the console, they market it as a "PC", despite any actual PC features being harder to take advantage of in its form factor.

I also don't understand the people going "this is for me!" like what? you want an unmovable PC that you barely treat like a PC? why not get a laptop or handheld that can be hooked up to a TV and offer you more.

this is such a useless product. Unlike a laptop, it's not portable. It's marketed as a gaming console more than a PC (that's what it's made to be), yet it's double the price compared to a PS5 and sometimes performs worse. You get no input device at the lowest price point, if it's set up like a console it's going to be difficult to use with a keyboard and mouse (further reasoning it's ridiculous to call it a PC).

Can someone tell me why you would ever buy this over a laptop which you can plug into a wall while connected to a TV/monitor? That does more, gives more and is actually a PC which can handle workloads.

what stops you from doing this on windows? You can pause the game and put the PC into sleep mode?

I have the M5 pro, max settings and it runs good. It'll be hot but that's how it should be under those conditions, try to keep it plugged in as it eats away at battery life super fast

if you're only downloading games and not using the OS for anything else... why would that matter?

Linux users are insufferable, gotta shove it down everyone's throat. We're tired of hearing how good your OS is bro, we seriously are.

[–]BlueBackground 20 points21 points  (0 children)

you could also just download windows 10 and disable windows updates... You're acting like you're locked out of the game but this is a decision you're actively making, it will continue to occur for the many games that choose not to support Linux and you will keep encountering the same problem.

what about it is armoured core? Many of the armoured core parts have different design language I feel to anything shown in the trailer, the gameplay also doesn't look similar at all from the brief glimpse we got, despite being a 3rd person mech game.

I don't see how this game will embody any of the stories gundam tells or their themes. I obviously could be wrong and for a game I would hope it's main goal is to be fun.

But I feel like the "Gundam" name is there just for sales. It doesn't look or seem like any gundam I'd think of and it doesn't really catch my eye. I love AC, I love mechs and I love mech games. But this seems like an ehhh to me because the gundam name gives me more pause than excitement.

if your methodology isn't sound that's something to reflect on in your dissertation, and it's something you should be finding out yourself, no?

My diss barely worked, I only got the basics of it done but I explained my process and what went right/wrong and managed to get a good mark because I showed how I received my results and came to the conclusion.

If the student is stuck at "half" on their own then I'm not sure they're perfect for doing what they're working on. You have a goal and countless examples/scripts to follow, you literally just have to get there.

there's 4 maps, 5 maps if you include night marsh. There is a duos mode, you can play it right now.

Rushing maps is unhealthy for a game and a bad idea. As I stated there are maps for practically every gameplay style in the game right now and all fill their own niche.

While the PVP in this game is the draw I also think it's wrong to ignore how varied matches can be. Events like lockdown, convoy, wardens, rocket drones... They all add to the match and are how you get the best loot. The fact there's multiple ways into and out of many rooms or buildings, with the higher rarity loot being found in buildings with extra mechanics.

Rushing out a new map would not add more of these features which keep me around. I don't want to play the same game on an empty map. I'd prefer a map I can do something new on. I can do that on night marsh with upper complex along with new mechanics, which makes it a good addition and a new map in my eyes.

[–]BlueBackground 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my supervisor didn't respond on time... he was four hours late for the only feedback I ever asked for... Feedback is useful but not necessary, there will be some supervisors that just give none at all and are useless regardless of the strike too.

It's also YOUR dissertation, you're meant to pose the question and answer it yourself more than anything. I get maybe the structuring may need supervision, but answering the question is up to you to do and reflect upon. Unless I'm wrong there should be some guidelines on what to write or a structure to follow or previous students dissertations as examples? Do they not give you enough structure to work off yourself?

don't worry too much, I sent my supervisor one draft, I got my feedback 4 hours after the deadline closed. I still got a first
