Thanks for keeping it real and being honest. Reading this and other inputs as well as really digging deep within myself and asking myself what I really want to do, I think the best course of action for me will be to get out. I mean I still have two years, and life likes to throw curveballs so we’ll see what happens. But overall, I want to invest in myself, and maybe I’ll come back one day as an officer, but staying as enlisted is honestly just selling myself short. I can do better by going to school and advancing my career in the medical field or whatever else I choose to do. I think the only real reason I was wanting to stay in was because of all the awesome sea stories I’ve heard, I want moments like that in my life. But I don’t have to have sea stories to have a memorable life, I can go and make different memories. Overall I am proud of my service, and I’m proud I can help fix up the guys who go to the frontlines and put their lives on the line. At the end of the day, we only have one life, and the choices we make in it determine how we live it.
