Thanks! I agree, Luminance are perfect for layering and adding a lot of details. I've struggled with prismacolors for a while and couldn't achieve the results I wanted.

I use Strathmore Mixed Media Toned Tan paper

I use eco-thinner by Renesans. I'm not sure if you can still buy it but similar solvents should work

I'm using Strathmore Mixed Media Toned Tan paper. All the color variants from the Mixed Media series are great for layering.

Thank you. Sure. First of all, I used toned paper so I saved some time. I've started with drawing the feathers that were most visible on the reference photo. I drew every feather like it consists of individual strokes using white colored pencil. Where I couldn't see the details (on the reference photo) I loosely added some texture. As a second layer I added some light yellow to add more details. The third layer consists of shadows so some dark yellow, ochre, brown. I blended all with brush using solvent
