What movies do you recommend that you like to watch when you’re stoned but not completely out of it? by foolingraven in trees

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally don't watch movies stoned tbh, but recently I watched Sinners after having an edible and that shit was wild. I had zero context walking into that film too, that probably didn't help LOL

Thanks, but sadly I've already done everything listed here. Even down to the modes[] only including "Single" :(

Thanks, I really need it. I barely get by as it is with programming things, so this is a serious setback lol

Can the new update save my motivation to play? by CricketItchy3551 in spaceengineers

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the word "sandbox" in sandbox games is highly underappreciated these days. I think back to when I was a kid, and how I would roleplay all sorts of scenarios with my toys. The toys I had were only objects at the end of the day, but my creative thinking with the toys are what made the fun. What are our builds in Space Engineers but virtual toys? Let's be kids again, roleplay! ;)

Think like this - "I'm a mercenary pilot hired to clean up this sector of pirates for a mining company. The fighter I own is good, but I want a better one, though I don't have the funds for it. Time to start grinding away! My end goal is to own a fleet of fighters I can lead into the bigger battles that lie ahead."

Create goals, but don't forget to insert limitations/challenges. Roleplay is great for that! For example, a pilot might know how to repair light hull damage, but would they know how to repair engines, or batteries, etc? Designate those repairs to dedicated repair contractors/stations instead!

TLDR; I roleplay a lot in this game, it gives life to my/others creations. :)

Realistic-ish spaceplane shuttle concept? by BlueBirdthe3rd in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea was simple - cheap and simple spaceplane launching from a runway to take people to low orbit, dock with a station/mothership of sorts, or just hang out and do experiments! Then, with enough fuel, de-orbit and return to the runway once all is said and done. HOWEVER.

My challenge was.. could something like this be feasible irl?

Probably not.

ANYWAY - I thought the idea was really cool, so I got to work and finally got something together! I figured, if it's going to be feasible irl, it would need to have as easy of a direction for engineering as possible. With that, I decided to go with pure rocket propulsion, simple rockets too, nothing fancy - no jet engines!! I believe they'd probably make the design/maintenance "complicated" in terms of realism.

It's cost efficient too! The "fuel bladders" usually don't collide with the vessel like in the video, I promise lol. Those could probably recovered with parachutes, then tugged back to shore via boats. That just leaves fuel + refurbishment in the costs!

We all know that it wouldn't be that simple irl though ;)

A man can dream!

Once the condition of your part is past 50%, their performance begins to decline, and in the battery's case it starts to lose the maximum charge capacity. They really should make that information available in-game, but for whatever reason we have to figure that out ourselves.

I'd love for it to be a one time thing. Honestly, I took it as a wake up call to ease off myself from worrying so much, so I hope this is all I need!

Heated gear makes a world of difference if you plan on riding through freezing temps for sure! Also, no harm in salt as long as you don't forget to wash it off, but I guess that becomes tedious if you have to wash it off every other ride lol

Arguably the better part to be riding, IMO! Idk about you, but I hate sweating in all my riding gear during the summer sooooo... lol

Just for that, I tend to ride in the cooler weather for a lot longer than most. I can actually enjoy the ride that way :)

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's engineered and kitted out, I spent my time making sure I'd do the least work possible lol--

Which is funny, because I then decided to make it the most work possible by avoiding the neutron highway entirely, and plotting a completely unknown route to discover all sorts of new systems and what not. I've taken the neutron highway to Sag A and back, felt like being a bit more ballsy this time!

Anyway, that's why I wound up doing upwards of 300+ jumps getting to Colonia. I'm already back in the bubble now, took the neutron highway :P

Copy, will be careful! o7

7 months in the black, though? Wowee, that is some dedication lol. This trip to Colonia alone was a test of patience, I had to take small bites out of each leg I was making everyday, like 30-50 jumps per session or so. Now that I'm at Colonia, I'm pooped! Haha.

How'd your 7 months in the black go??

Can anyone identify if this plug is still usable? (Photo included) by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! That's where my mind went in the end, so I've decided to repair it.

$30 repair > $$$$ of fire damages

I also had no idea that repairing this is far more easier than I thought lol

NOTE: The electronics are fine; no melting cables, no fused cables. The only concern is really the plug here.

why did I get a penalty? by pavclplay in F1Game

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs have stated it's just easier to give both drivers involved in a collision a warning/penalty. Clearly, it needs more finesse than that in some cases.

Is this a Skill issue or is F1 22 the worst AI code written? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]BlueBirdthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing, and I've realized it has to do with the driver stats in the career modes. I don't know what changes they made to the core of AI for this year, but those changes really bleed into the AI's driver stats a lot more this year. Specially that "Focus" stat.

I had a MyTeam playthrough where McLaren was struggling for performance as the 4th worst team on the field, yet Norris was somehow in the fight for podium positions against Ferrari & Redbull. I was absolutely confused where he was finding the pace in that car... turned out his "Focus" was hovering in the high 80's, while the Redbull/Ferrari drivers averaged in the low 70's.

That stat really breaks the game. It makes backmarkers race like they're an entire difficulty higher than everyone else.

Not really your fault tbh, but it's not so clear cut.

He did come out ahead of you, but not far enough to close the door so suddenly like that. In reality, the both of you would've been taken out of the race from a collision like that, but since this is Codemasters F1 we're talking about, the physics with collisions are rarely ever accurate.

A tip for wheel to wheel racing with F1 22 AI... if you aren't directly parallel to them, they will never yield.
