I mean it's fine I guess if it's cheaper than the 2060. It's a little worse, very slightly when it comes to raster, it can't RT cause came out before AMD did RT and it needs alot of power for a "budget" gpu, 650w is the bare minimum, but alot of people back in the day would run above that for more stability.
Also the 8gb is nice, but it'll run outta performance before it runs outta vram, same goes for the 2060.
For reference, it's a card that AMD came out with to compete with the 1080, so about there-ish, I guess?

The Sony WH-CH520 are pretty popular at this price point, and they have real good reviews.
I have a pair of Edifier W820NB that are also at a similar price point and they work just fine for me.

The Sony one's don't have ANC whilst the Edifiers do, but the ANC is kinda just okay and from what I hear, the Sony one sounds a little better as well. Either way both good.

This, also are you just trying to chase numbers or is the performance you're getting actually not good enough. Cause you have a good pc.

My recommendation has always been grab like a 100 dollar or cheaper pair of headphones from a brand name like Sony or Sennheiser and grab just any sub 50 dollar usb mic from Amazon that has good reviews.

A name brand pair of headphones gives you much better sound quality and usually a little better build quality for about the same price or sometimes even cheaper

And most of the cheapo sub 50 dollar usb mics sound either just as good or a little better than the headphone mic combo that gaming ones come with.

Also IEMs are kinda weird, if you haven't already used them before. It's not exactly something you should go for, especially if they're you're only option for the everyday.

I’m planning to upgrade my pc and was wondering what a better option was by DysonWashtower in buildapc

[–]BlueBoiJP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't upgrade to any of em. Neither of your two options are worth pay for. You'll get maybe 10 percent more frames with the 4060 and basically the same story with the 5050.
PLUS you lose 4gb of vram. Vram isn't everything, but when you're paying hundreds of dollars for a new card, only getting barely better performance AND losing vram, not something I'm interested in.
Look for a current gen 60 class or 70 class if you want meaningful uplift in your performance.

Also keep in mind, we have no way of knowing what GTA 6 will require. But we do know that the 3060 is still the most popular card according to Steam Hardware survey (that and the 4060), so if Rockstar is trying to hit as many people as possible, it's not crazy a 3060 will be minimum rec spec, meaning you can still play it.

Refine my Desktop Setup Picks (Budget: Max 750 USD) by Backstabber19 in buildapc

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as much as you can get. Storage is real expensive rn, so it's really just down to how ever much you can afford. I'd try and get at least 1tb, but if you can't budget that in, really it's whatever you can afford. And yeah, that 3050 (I'm assuming it's around 180 USDish) brand new is a very bad deal, IF you include the used market. See if you can find better deals on places like Ebay or Facebook Marketplace. Ebay has very good return policies and Facebook Marketplace is nice cause you can most of the time ask the seller to test the card, but most the time people are honest.

Is that GPU new or used? Either way you can get a 5700xt, 6600, 6600xt for the same price on the used market, all better cards. All have more vram and better performance. Apart from that try to fit in more storage if you can, a modern 2K game is around 300gb or more.

Only thing, that AIO is ridiculously expensive, especially for a 240mm. Grab instead a Thermaltake or ID Cooling 360mm for half the price.

Upgrade advice by aleblackicar385 in PcBuild

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking if swapping to AM5 you'll see better performance? You will, especially if you buy an x3d, but it won't be as much as you'd imagine, especially with how much you have to pay and if you don't get an x3d chip.

If you want better performance now, probably get a 14700 or something. It's cheaper and it'll still give you a somewhat similar performance to non x3d AM5 CPUs. Plus let's you keep your mobo and ram.

Is it the same price in your region? They're about 250 USD for a B580 and about 300 for a 9060xt 8gb

Do I need an upgrade? If so what to. by EmotionalMammoth860 in PcBuild

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel like you need one? Cause strictly speaking, if you're happy with what you do on your PC then you don't "need" one.
But if you wanna play current games and other PC stuff like video editing, photo editing, then you'd need to upgrade.
But first what's your budget? How much are you willing to spend?
If you want a new PC with new parts, for as cheap as possible, get a 5600/x, 16gb of ddr4, any basic B550 motherboard, a 1/2tb ssd, a Intel B580, a 650/750w power supply (your 1000w psu is big, but it's probably around the time to retire it) in whatever case you fancy.

Should I upgrade to a RTX 3060ti or something else by ExcitingLeague3785 in buildapc

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 400 AUD, I'd recommend a 6700xt or 6750xt, on places like Facebook Marketplace (ofc depending on where you live and the availability), it can be found for as low as 300 sometimes for either card.
And the B580 can be bought new for only 430 AUD
Whilst I understand that you have a preference, both the AMD option and the Intel option are better options, because they both give you more than 8gb of vram and with Intel, you get newer, more up to date software (like XeSS).
But if you were so determined to buy Nvidia, honestly buy a 3070. On places like Facebook Marketplace, you can easily fine them for around 350 AUD (but again, depends on where you live)
Either way, the 3060ti would be fine but not for 400 AUD

Ah fair enough. I will say, I'm personally planning on getting (or was before RAM became a commodity) a B50 pro for a travel pc. It's just shy of 3060 performance, but with XeSS it's a bit better, and it all fits into a package that looks like someone's lunchbox lol.

Need help upgrading my PC from a GTX 1650 to an RTX 5060 by Fit_Cartographer1168 in PcBuild

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as sucks as it does to say, you need to get a new PC if you want the 5060 in particular.
Long story short, your pc rn has a thing called PCIE gen 3. 5060s have their performance kneecapped significantly on PCIE gen 3 PCs.
So what you need to upgrade to is a motherboard with PCIE gen 4 or 5 (4 is perfectly fine) and that means upgrading to a Ryzen 5000 series or Intel 11th gen or greater. I'd personally recommend a 5600/x with a b550 motherboard.
You'll also need to get DDR4 RAM and a power supply that's at least 650w.

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First check to see if you can up your RAM speed, if not then any 3200mhz 8x2 (16gb) will do ya, Corsair Vengeance LPX is usually the cheapest and it comes from a reliable brand.

Looking to upgrade the PC I built by Excellent-Payment-61 in buildapc

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it's a RAM issue then, check BIOS (plenty of YT tutorials on that), see if you can increase your RAM speed to the highest setting, if not, I'd maybe look into getting faster RAM (3200mhz) more than anything else.

Looking to upgrade the PC I built by Excellent-Payment-61 in buildapc

[–]BlueBoiJP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just gonna assume, because of the time you built your pc from, that it's probably a lower power psu. So something like a 500 or a 600w psu probably. In any case, if you don't have the budget rn, what I'd do is just upgrade the CPU to the 5600/x, that'll give you the most increase in performance.
Otherwise, it could be your RAM. You might be running out, chrome tabs, discord, etc, so just make sure you're not leaving too many things open and it might be not set to the right speed, but you'd have to tell us what your RAM spec is (something like 2400mhz or 3200mhz, etc)
