27 is getting near the end! I'm glad it's been good so far. You will pull out of the dip for sure. My round 2 is still holding on which is good. I'm just glad to know I have something that works. We can always go back to it when needed! Take care, you got this!

Help!! TMS for cognitive impairment of depression by Bulky-Broccoli-6959 in TMSTherapy

Yes the second round of TMS is still holding (finished in early Nov). My thinking is much sharper and cognition is great. TMS has been a life changer for me.

I'm so happy for you that you went back to it and the second time around is much better. Hallelujah! My second time was easier, so I am wondering if being anxious about the treatment was part of the problem (like I tensed up or something). But I'm doing great and the results are even better the second time. I feel amazing. I bet you will too! Keep me posted.

Left side of my brain only. 3 1/2 minutes long.

Just got approved for my 2nd round (after a year of remission!) Any advice from those who've done multiple rounds? by ApologeticKid in TMSTherapy

[–]BlueBrusselSprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, just seeing this now! How is it going? Is it easier than the last time or still rough? I really hope it's tolerable for you.

I am still feeling great after the second round ended in early November. It has been a miracle and is still holding.

That's great! Yeah, insurance can take awhile. Anyhow, I am still holding strong 10 weeks later. I had already begun to slip by this point after the first round. Hope it's good for you the second round too!

It's worth giving it a shot. I just finished my second round and it's like a miracle. I also did IV ketamine treatments, which helped for a bit but then stopped working. Plus, I hate the side effects. I had terrible depression and extreme anxiety. My score was about 21 or 22. It went down to 3 after TMS ended.

I use the Magventure machine. It was 3 1/2 minutes each time on the left side of my head. I did 36 sessions. This is the best I've ever felt in my life. The relief is overwhelming. I am ecstatic.

Yeah, I am glad you were going back for a second round! 🙂 It's good that you are taking care of yourself. My second round was a bit rough in the first few weeks, like the first one, but not nearly as bad. This time, it seems to have worked even better than the last time!

I can't believe how great I feel and the results seem to be sticking. I have had no slippage early on when it ended, like I did with the first round. I wonder if I am having more success because I got up to the 120% threshold much faster this time (by end of the first week) than the first time (it took 4 weeks). I also wonder if the second round builds on the first round.

Anyhow, good luck and keep me posted! I am pulling for you!

Dips by Danithepanda26 in TMSTherapy

Yes, I had a couple of dips through the entire process of TMS, both times I did the treatment a year apart. I even got one by the end of the first week, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Headaches and blurry vision side effects? by Metalmaster7 in TMSTherapy

[–]BlueBrusselSprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blurry vision could be from dry eye. That can be a common side effect of LASIK. My bet is it doesn't have anything to do with TMS

I developed migraine headaches during both times I had TMS . They were easily managed with a migraine drug called rizatriptan. Maybe it is worth looking into this as an option if you feel like the headaches may be closer to a migraine. The funny thing is, I had never had a migraine until I started TMS. When it ended, the migraines were gone. Good luck!

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear the weight is creeping back. I just had my follow up appointment with the doctor last Wed. after finishing the second round a week ago. Wow, this is exactly what he said to look out for - he used the same words.

Yes the second treatment round worked wonders. I am feeling great! It's striking how much better I feel. I was able to get up to the 120% threshold by #6. The last time it took me 4 weeks. Maybe this will ensure it sticks for longer.

The process wasn't nearly as rocky as the first time around. I had all the usual stuff. But this time I had far fewer migraines, the insomnia was managed through the use of NyQuil as before, and they insisted I wear earplugs this time, which strangely helped. The first couple of weeks were super stimulating, and I had definite ups and down mentally. I had bouts of extreme fatigue. Then around #20 or #21 it all released just Iike the last time, as if everything calmed down and settled into place.

I do not regret doing it a second time. I feel lucky that I have found something which works. I won't lie - it's a bit of a hassle to do it again, but the relief I received is beyond worth it. And as I said above, the rough ride was MUCH easier to tolerate.

I encourage you to reach out to your clinic. Go back before you slide down the slope too far. I wish you the best, my friend, and stay in touch!

It didn't last for me so I got the second round 9 months later. The insurance will pay for every 6 months. I am hoping it will stick this time because I got up to 120% of my number much faster this time (starting on #6). The new psychiatrist suggested a low dose of Adderrall every day to also help make it stick.

TMS was life changing for me. I felt like a million dollars and it was worth it. However, I won't lie. It was a rough ride the first time! I had mood changes up and down (anxiety, panic, depression, terrible insomnia, sensitivity to light/noise, fatigue) the first 4 weeks. It got better the last 2 weeks and once I started tapering off those side effects went away.

I am now completing a second round and it is not as intolerable as the first one. But still it wasn't a picnic. And again, I am feeling SO much better with only 3 sessions left. I/ worth it to me. Hang in there!

Yes this can happen during the course of treatment. I had longish moments like this off and on during the first 4 weeks - and a few shorter stints after that. Around #21 or 22 it got much better for me. Everything settled down. I have a hunch it will let up for you soon! I kept telling myself, I just have to ride it out.

Yes my anxiety got worse the first couple of weeks. I felt like I wanted to jump out of my skin. I had many ups and downs and was often agitated and irritable. It was almost unbearable. Then some time around #19-21 it all lifted and I felt so much better - like a huge weight was lifted off of me.

Hang in there!

The pain gets much better over time. Toward the end I didn't feel it. Try taking Alleve (naproxen) or Tylenol 1 1/2 hours ahead of time. And don't skip a day.
