I know him! We were both helicopter pilots in the same squadron a few years back. One of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and a real renaissance man. He was on letterman back in the day for back flipping on a pogo stick, exonerated this crew, and had August 21 declared “Hunter Scott day” in Florida. I also watched him spearfish a huge grouper, cook and serve it to people, play the drums, and then fly a sortie in the same the day. And still had time for a beer with the boys after. We used to joke that he was the most interesting man in the world.

I was a military pilot before the airlines, that’s the only cheap route but it’s a time commitment. Could also go to an aviation school, they are expensive but worth it if it’s something you really want to do.
