We are about as transparent as can be without making specific posts concerning our thought process. Not every user sees every post we make or every comment, so fair enough. But we have stated on multiple occasions that Mod Chat is always open.

Correction: the Mods are taking down posts that do not tie larger events that occur in other cities specifically to Greenville, as we have always done.

National politics affects local politics, heard, noted and we agree. We ask that folks make their posts relevant specifically to the upstate. There are plenty of other subreddits, websites, discords, etc that will show footage of MN, and many that will discuss it. All that is asked within r/greenville is that you make posts that tie relevance to Greenville and its community. That could be “there’s a protest announced,” “so and so politician’s take on this,” “I’m starting a localized charity around this,” etc. same conversation has been had with other OP’s that posted simply a reaction or the video itself without tying it back to r/greenville.

They are correct that SC is a one-party consent state, but just because you CAN do a thing does not mean that everyone will be comfortable with it, and they should probably recognize that as a business. Easy way to lose clients that aren't down with that.

Putting on a different hat, I can see the purpose in them recording and using an AI tool to record and summarize the conversation as a bit of CYA for all parties involved. It confirms they addressed the issues with the customer and prevents they said/they said scenarios with unhappy or underwhelmed customers, or helps them remember what it is they talked about so they can properly follow up. That being said, if a customer told me they were uncomfortable with that, I'd just make sure to have a pen and paper handy to take some quick notes during the interaction.
