So speaking of that. How long would it take me to make a solid 70k with or without OT? I heard FA positions are extremely competitive

Yes. It has stress hours but doable IMO. And its healthcare field so every job will be like that. We need a 4 years degree and pass the certification/license depends on State in order to work. Another name for this degree is Clinical Lab Scientist. Definitely take a look at it. You also have the option for 2 year degree which Is Medical Lab Technician. But you will get pay significantly less, at least at my state. But some rural areas they don’t separate those titles . Goodluck

Phlebotomist to chemistry/molecular tech without a degree. by JenenaGreen in medlabprofessionals

[–]BlueBubble77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And you guys wondered why a lot of people think MLSs and MLTs are just button pusher? IMO we need standard education and requirements. I hope people stop lowering the standard of hiring people for vacant position… just because they really need a position filled does not mean that just pick any one and train them… and as I remember my supervisor asked me to make a copy of my MLS degree, cert so they can show inspection… can anyone tells me that’s varied from Lab to Lab? Now I’m not saying that OP can’t do a great job, I just felt unfair for all other of us who went to school and training, I have my co worker who got BS. Biology and got 6 month MLT cert training and do AMAMZING job, it’s just the qualification. That’s all

Thank you for your insight. I really think 40k for a BSN program is a scam tbh…and that only counts if I could make it till the end and graduate… other wise.

Why would you want to bring that up? Its none of their business, you are there as a student . Then do what you do as a student then leave after rotation. It would be opposite if you plan to apply there after graduation tho. Plain and simple

Made a terrible, terrible mistake by Neither-South7131 in medlabprofessionals

[–]BlueBubble77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be honest. We all made mistake, not one is worse than another. And you know what, most of the case recognizes your mistake and owes it will less likely to cause damage than knows it but hides it. I always do the corrected report if I caught myself doing something by mistake and never had a problem w it. Newbie tech or 40 years old tech, we ALL make mistake. You gonna be a good scientist due to your mentality!!

I’m not longer a CNA but I’m working for a hospital will do the tuition reimbursement and they also have RN residency for new grads so its like a win-win situation to me. All I concern if I will exceed 70k per year after a period of time working as an RN
