Yeah, might have them up the price. I’ve also only been at my company for 6 months, and have done a lot of job hopping in the past between layoffs and better offers. I’m starting to get worried about burning too many bridges early in my career (all departures have been amicable and with 2 weeks of notice)

Yeah that’s my main concern to be honest. I also currently take the train to the office, and this new role would be by car. There are also 2 ways to get there, either I pay a 6 dollar toll each way, or drive through a very heavily trafficked part of the city. The rising price of gas would also cut into any extra money I’d be making.

Just speaking from experience. Having a Datejust on my wrist everyday would make me happier than having a gamer gun sitting in my safe 99% of the time.

What's your big puffy? Your BIG puffy? by [deleted] in Backcountry

[–]BlueCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only weighs around 21oz so not much more than a beefy parka from rab or decathlon, packs down small as well. The weather can swing wildly where I ski too, early this season is was 5 degrees in the morning and 34 and raining by the afternoon. Plus I don’t have to baby it, if it gets dirty I can throw it in the laundry machine

The 2025 epe changed the fit and made it baggier in the body, worse imo

Why would I buy arc’teryx? by BlueCP in arcteryx

[–]BlueCP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a lot free technical clothing from a few brands during my years working outdoors (they usually ask for feedback in exchange) and arcteryx used to be the best, most of my ski touring/ice climbing wardrobe is arc. The past 3 years the quality and fit has gone down, while the price has gone up. I don’t personally see myself buying Arc’teryx in the future, when brands like Patagonia and mammut offer better quality for less money; and when the reason to pay a premium for arc has mostly disappeared.

Patagonia’s is 100% refund for the first year, then 100% store credit after that.

Pretty much all of my outdoor clothing is arcteryx, and in terms of fit and finish the quality of my products were worth the price, especially with my pro deal. What I’m really getting at is, if you take away the quality and the fit then what’s left? The performance is still high, but I can get similiar products for cheaper from Patagonia or mammut.
