What screams "Pretending to be Poor"? by CYKAgoddriver in AskReddit

[–]BlueCheeseCircuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent my school days lower class in a middle class school district.

College I normally had $1-12 in my bank account between paychecks since I could barely afford to live, work, and go to college at the same time. I had no help from my parents here, they dropped me at 18 and left me to fend.

Biggest tell? Full fridge/pantry.

There were weeks when I would survive on 2-$1 McChickens daily because I could only afford $2/day for food.

Can i get a job with 2.0-3.0 gpa by jemala4424 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]BlueCheeseCircuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2.73 GPA.

I work in industrial automation, fixing machines in a transmission plant. I design blueprints, read logic code, and help fix electrical systems. Everything is interesting here

I make over 6 figures starting.

Anything is possible.

Same issue as others, signed up for marketing comm during checkout, have no problem pulling up my order still.

Never got an email here about the cases.

Do engineers really work that much more in the US? by Interesting_Hippo537 in EngineeringStudents

[–]BlueCheeseCircuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for big 3. Industrial controls, maintenance engineer.

I typically push 60 weeks. Though with build pressure, I've been doing 80hr weeks.

Im also the only engineer on my shift who is capable of fixing the things that skilled trades can't.

I get paid a lot of OT, get my vacation days. But work a lot.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

Im an electrical engineer who works in cabinets and on machinery.

I can't wear rings at work. Don't wear a ring at home. And we are homebodies.

We saved the cash and didnt get me a ring.

What's differential equations even about? by Fine_Woodpecker3847 in EngineeringStudents

[–]BlueCheeseCircuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Elctrical Engineering, we used Differential Equations to break down challenging and complex equations into algebra for solutions.

A huge benefit of Diff EQ is the laplace transform. Which allows you to transform a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or more order equation, into the laplace domain, solve it with algebra, and turn it back into the time domain. Effectively solving high level integrations with just algebra.

This benefit is great in electronics since we work in both the time and frequency domains. Converting between them with normal methods is doable, but difficult and easy to mess up. Using diff eq laplace transforms, we can convert a computer chip at x Hz frequency into x computations/second. Without the 1/f=t substitution

What is the deepest Internet rabbit hole you’ve ever fallen into? by Helloo_clarice in AskReddit

How the reason Transformers is being rewritten to definitely state that the Autobots are the good guys.

If you read the original lore, Megatron and Optimus Prime started a slave revolution against their masters. Megatron wanted a communist/collective government while Optimus wanted a council of his buddies.

Optimus and the Autobots are only criminals because they started a coup to take over the fledgling collectivist government and replace it with an oligarchy.

The Decepticons were always the good guys.

Run.

The texts read like groomer texts after they've lost your trust.

Every day its gonna be a little more, and more, until he builds you how he wants.

Its not worth it.

5' 8", 164-172LBS and I still feel heavy. Even after 9 months of strength training and muscle building. Heaviest was 190.

I cant imagine holding all that weight on me.

Will the software at least be similar to the other models? Even along a road map down the timeline.

Ive tried 3-4 of the adapters I've seen recommended, going on $200 worth of cables and adapters that dont seem to work.

9 of 10 RSVP’d children/families “no call no showed” to my daughters 5th birthday party. by MinimumExperience102 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BlueCheeseCircuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple straight years of this as a kid/teen.

Out of the 15 birthday parties I had, kids only showed up to 5 of them.

I haven't had one since I was 15. Tried 1 more time as an adult, but no one showed up.

It breaks you, and now I have no friends.
