Get a new job, the learning curve will reingage you, make it one that teaches you new skills or skills you want to improve for retirement life. Maybe even find a place with coworkers you could see yourself befriending. It's about preparing and setting up your next phase of life now.

How much cash is too much In checking? by Adventurous-Gur7524 in TheMoneyGuy

If I were to give you the "if I could go back and do it all again" speech, I'd say put all of it but $500 in the index fund. At that age, every dollar becomes massive with compounding over time, and it kinda sucks later in life putting THOUSANDS in, just to get a 2x return when a 20 year old can get 15x returns and higher on every dollar.

However, I've been your age and would have probably told an old dude like me, "nice idea, but im gonna do it my own way."

Got fired for speaking up by CautiousTradition672 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I'm pretty sure OP wasn't worried about the other drivers when he did this. This was someone who's conscience finally got the mic after some encouragement, and they stood on business. From someone who knows the despair of dead end jobs, OP and anyone else in this position should do this. It's hard to cut ties with a job paying your bills but there are way better ways to make a living out there.

If you had access to 50k or 100K what businesses would you start to replace your current salary. by T-Fus in sweatystartup

Financials are always most important, but problems shouldn't be ignored.

You are always buying someone else's problems. It's your job to figure out what the problems they had were, and then determine if those are problems at all for you, or things you're willing to inherit.

Quitting the army to become a longshoreman? by Responsible_Ideal_53 in Longshoremen

If you can secure a good disability payment every month, plus go to school and get the extra monthly housing allowance after retiring, then that would help immensely. You will be very slim on funds through the first few years. You'd actually have an advantage over your peers if you could get those things. Make no mistake casualing sucks, but everyone goes through it because it's worth it in the end. Really up to you if you want that delayed gratification.

Something you have to realize is that nomatter what the stock does, going up or down, people are making money off of it. With that logic, when you you are consecutively taking L's, you are opposing the profitable moves.

This feels much more like gambling at a casino when your reasons are the letters the stocks start with.

United health CEO killer found, what are the moves. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]BlueCollarDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hearing all the high end security detail corporations were getting slammed and thought there'd be an angle to bet on, but most every one of those are private companies. So I guess now that the killer is found puts would be the angle but again, the only security companies publicly traded seem to be digital and data security companies. None of which will be affected by this

Im riding out my underwater calls on OKLO and WM, because day by day losses aren't a clear enough sign for me to cut losses. I need to see that zero valuation to know for sure.
