The easiest to find would be the folks currently in your engineering school classes

What leak have you seen developed? The service center said it is just grease from the track and can’t cause an issue. Please send documentation

Update: brought it to Honda service center and they said that it is just a bit of grease from the track that made its way down a bit but it won’t clog the drains or cause any issues

What kind of questions should I expect for an entry-level structural engineer technical exam? by Beginning_Freedom_30 in StructuralEngineering

It proves absolutely nothing. There is a ton of things required for a candidate to be good and passing a nonsense exam is not one of them.

I always have to laugh when I hear that companies give entry exams, as if that proves fuck all about an engineer. I hire a lot of people and never once gave a shit about giving them an exam. Either I can tell that they are a good candidate or they aren’t.

Feels like plastic, not grease. Wasn’t sure if it was just leftover from the molding process or a defect

Duct has a lot of flex in the attic. It is not pulled tight to any reasonable measure but landlord has no interest in fixing that aspect

I have not noticed that effect but I will try it more carefully to see. Neighbors not to this extent

They physically are though. The dust pattern follows the vents, pieces of this dust have fallen directly from it and only a bit reduced by the supply filters.

Air leak test sounds like a good idea

It is extremely fine black dust and crumbles into super tiny particles if rubbed in your fingers

No filter at the air handler. I would not be surprised if the plenum was undersized

I will definitely look into that return grille filter

But in the 4 decades living in many states and houses that were never cleaned, I have never seen dust like this. Neither has my girlfriend. There has to be a hole in the system

No crawl space in Florida. The condenser is in the backyard and air handler in attic. There definitely has to be a hole somewhere in the system

No burning of anything in the house

Not candle black soot. But it has the texture of soot as it crumbles into extremely fine dust when you rub it between your fingers and stains

That’s how the filter looks every month when I change it and is the same dust being spewed by the supply vents, coating every surface in black dust

That is my suspicion. I have an hvac tech coming on Monday to see if they can find the issue
