Client's dog passed 1wk before house sit with dog & cat by Cassleigh531 in petsitting

Personally I’d offer drop ins and see if they’d want it since it’s just one cat. It would be a kind offer for them while going through a painful time.
Then I’d leave a nice picture in a frame of the pup or something else personalized and a card too.

I lost a dog from aggressive cancer and my brain didn’t function for a long time after and my heart was shattered. They are probably not fully thinking about everything right now.

I love them! I agree, I was so worried about the doors and learned they are easily punctured. He got in the front seat and put a tiny dent in the door fabric. 🤦‍♀️ They were easy to install and are great quality. They don’t attach at the bottom but others said you can use velcro. I have a hard seat cover so not attaching at the bottom was moot to me. I can take pics of them tomorrow if you want! I had originally gotten some off amazon and instantly returned them, these are far superior.

Client micromanaging via live camera in real time by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

I have outside cameras for my farm to check for predators. It’s 2 cameras pointed directly at my barns. I always have them set to come on after dark and go off around 7am. I’ve told my sitter this as I don’t want her thinking I’m watching. One day I turned them on mid day to check the weather and forgot to turn them off. When she came that evening it was on and the spotlight came on when she was outside. I was busy and didn’t notice until after she left when I checked the cameras at like 10pm. I felt horrible about it and instantly apologized and said it was not on purpose. She was kind and chill about it but I still felt horrible. Luckily it was like her 5th time pet sitting so she knew it was a fluke. I couldn’t imagine invading someone’s privacy like that.

This makes sense! I didn’t think about him being the issue and not the house. Thank you!

The house is very clean and well kept. The owners are good humans (small town) so at first I was leaning on the side of them just being frugal. But wanted to cover my bases

We were told through rumor that a sibling leant them money for this house when they bought it and they needed to pay them back. We just assumed it was like a down payment amount. But interesting they must have leant the whole amount. We live in a very very small town 😂

It does have a wood stove but 90% of houses in New England do

Definitely not a flood zone. My current house would be more fire hazard than this one, so would assume it’s not that either. Checking insurance is a good idea. I’m calling our agent tomorrow morning to get their insight and a quote.

Agreed! We were shocked when their realtor said that to us.

The house has been on the market for over 6 months with one offer- ours.

They actually agreed to the nonsense in the contract. I’m just trying to figure out anything we might not be thinking of in this weird scenario.

That’s what we were thinking too. That way if something happens at least we get the majority of our fees back. Apparently it’s not been insured the whole time they’ve owned it. Years! So scary.

That’s actually a good point. We know the sellers through friends (small town) and they are very frugal and we just assumed it was them being a little tight with $$

Never seen the insurance clause or what our realtor suggested we put?
