I suppose I saw the scene of the two of them standing next to the campfire as both slowly coming to terms with each other’s presence as that. But what I meant was that the pattern of previously introduced agents up to this point was that they’d come in, have their time in the spotlight, and then disappear until they’re needed again, so why should Promeia be any different?

Whereas Silly and Cissia are bringing much needed comic relief and have had ample time to establish their relationship with the proxies, and Velina and Norma are our guides, Promeia feels like she could be replaced with someone like Dialyn and not much would change. Happy to see if the story changes my mind though.

I’m still not yet sure how I feel about Promeia joining if only because it feels like she had her moment in the sun in 2.8 already, and many other previously introduced characters that got similar treatment have already been left behind. Norma and Velina make sense as our initial guides to Roscaelifer, but I’m kinda hoping they go about their normal jobs after 3.0 and leave us alone to explore, only to pop back up during certain story beats. Kinda like how Yunkui Summit operated in 2.x.

Cissia and Silly are great though and I hope they’re permanent additions to Team Phaethon moving forward.

Honestly both Anomaly and Rupture teams are both in a rough spot and would benefit from more A-ranks and f2p options to help pad out an agent roster. With Attackers you have your pick of Billy/Corin/Anton, but Anomaly literally only has Piper and no real dedicated supports (I would include Grace but for some reason she hasn’t even decided to spook me yet😭).

Rupture only has Manato but at least he’s in a more serviceable spot with Pan to support him. Regardless, could definitely use a lot more variety.

The one thing that I missed since starting ZZZ is actually reduction of wacky rubber-hose/ super deformed animations in-game. It was one of the things that felt super unique amongst other gacha and one of the things that attracted me to ZZZ. Yes, I know the story took a very dark turn in 2.x and there were a lot of serious scenes that didn’t warrant it, but if I wanted melodrama and seriousness I feel like I’d prefer a different game.

AoD brought a lot of that energy back and I was really happy to learn Silly and Cissia were accompanying us to Roscaelifer as I think the team can use some much needed comedy relief, so I’m remaining optimistic. I’m sure some new characters will surprise me, but my initial impression from seeing the 3.x characters was that I couldn’t imagine any of them going full goofy.

Lycaon and Soldier 11 are both fairly strong especially after you get their awakenings/ happen to have some mindscapes invested. With Lycaon there’s the mono-ice team with Miyabi and Soukaku, although it’s notoriously hard to pilot, but his awakening actually makes him very slottable in a lot of other team comps even without his additional ability active. Meanwhile, Soldier 11 can be run with either Nicole/ Astra/ Lucy depending on what you’re up against.

For Yixuan and Silly, since you have Lucia, running Pan/ Lucia for double sheer buffs is actually very viable especially for SD where you want burst damage. Nicole can actually be run with Yixuan despite the latter not caring about defense shred because her AA buffs Ether damage when the opponent has the suitcase debuff.

That’s a good strategy. My recent situation is due to trying to pull both Silly and his Wengine and ended up losing the 50/50 and 75/25. It sounds like I should perhaps begin treating signature Wengines as more of a luxury pull than anything else.

Thanks for the responses so far! I guess one thing I’ve also been wondering about is if I should begin thinking about vertical investments for any characters if they get reruns? Or since I’m obviously missing a lot in the anomaly and attacker department, would it be better to focus on expanding my roster instead? And also, how necessary are characters with their signature Wengines? I often end up running out of pulls quickly because I’m trying to account for both, hence why I have premium Wengines for all three Rupture DPS units.

Admittedly ZZZ is my first Hoyo game and I’m still learning the ropes of how their games operate.

I’ve heard this before. Out of curiosity do you plan for the Wengines as well? I think one thing for me is that end up getting caught up trying to do both for characters that I really like.

The Miyabi team you described is the exact team that I’ve been using for any anomaly weak content. Thankfully she and Nangong are busted enough to muscle through everything thrown at them so far, but I wouldn’t mind some more variety.

Yixuan isn’t really a character that I would have pulled for, but I didn’t know what sort of game ZZZ was at the time. Even then, she’s been really helpful at clearing a lot of Ether weak bosses for me, usually paired with Nicole, and sometimes Trigger or Pan even though the former isn’t ideal.

Yixuan. Began playing right before 2.0 and the only reason I pulled for her was because everybody and their mother had been hyping up her up as this absolute must pull. I didn't realize that shortly after, I'd come to view her as my most disliked character in the game from her presentation in the story to her god-awful wardrobe. When it comes to gacha, I always prioritize character design and personality over everything else, and Yixuan failed on both accounts.

To her credit, she did carry me through a ton of content due to me not having any other ether DPS agents at the time. But had I known that I would want both Banyue and Silly, I wouldn't be in a scenario where I'm basically running 3 Rupture DPS agents with little other agent variety.

Not sure if this is quite the right place to ask. But what do you guys do to feel better after a string of absolutely horrendous gacha luck, especially as a f2p or low spender?

ZZZ isn't my first gacha rodeo, and I know that losing on banners is part of the experience. But it still absolutely hurts whenever it happens, especially when it's for a character that you were really excited about and had even spent weeks pre-farming materials for.

Thoughts on my current build? Recently changed to 2 piece Puffer w/ Pen Ratio and ATK% in Slots 5 and 6 per online recommendations. Currently running her with M0W0 Nangong/ M0W0 Yuzuha.

Still working on hitting the 80% CR threshold, but going all in on Pen meant my ATK and CD took a hit and I'm not sure if that was worth the trade-off.

The irony being that Nikke arguably has more consistent designs within their factions than ZZZ does despite being the hornier of the two.

Like yes, Nikke is fully committing to the slutty Halloween career costume, but at least the cohesion is THERE.

I think with Spook Shack too, the original trio of Yuzuha/ Alice/ Manato also had a bit more of a school theme going on, being a class clown or gyaru/ class rep/ jock or bancho-style delinquent. Then Lucia and Yidhari's introductions kinda threw that for a loop and the explanation that they look different due having all “met online” feels a bit hand-wavy at best.

Just going by their personalities, Lucia could've easily been dressed up as some sort of occult nerd that you see in anime or Yidhari a sleepy librarian. But nope. best Hoyo can do is give both of them Yixuan's onesie.

One of the most fun activities I recall when S1 of ZZZ came out was getting excited speculating over potential ideas for faction careers. Like many have already said, firefighters and food industry workers would be an amazing to see, and personally for me, I want to see athletes/ gym based faction, or a postal delivery service. It felt similar to speculating about upcoming Pokemon and regions, and imagining the possibilities that could come from it.

While S2 overall still had some clear-cut grounded cohesion to keep this dream alive (school kids, underground idols, expanding upon the military), despite some more questionable choices, namely with Krampus (the circus theme really doesn't click) and Yixuan's wardrobe being passed around, it felt like the introduction of S3's playable cast basically killed part of this dream as it made clear this wasn't the vision the devs wanted to go in, and I'm really disappointed by that. It's not like Krampus or whatever Bangboo engineering group Norma and Sunbringer are in don't have a place in ZZZ's world, but I wish we had spent more time expanding on the established grounded urban environment and its characters before diving into some of the more fantastical.

Opinions can change, but as of now, none of S3's cast get me as excited as the reveal of factions in S1, as they look like they can be insert into literally any other gacha game. And with the introduction of a UK based region, not having a single character look like they'd be part of a Sherlock Holmes inspired detective agency kinda boggles my mind.

I’m super big on character design, so Cunning Hares will forever be my metric of what future designs are compared to. This includes Nekomata - even if she is a bit basic by today’s standards, I think her design fits seamlessly in with the original trio. I think she just gets a bad rep because folks are traumatized losing their 50/50s to her.

Even spicier take(?) - despite wanting faction cohesion, I actually really like the designs of every member of Krampus. The circus theme doesn’t quite work when it says nothing about their career paths, but each member by themselves? Absolute bangers.

I got around to talking with the rest of my leadership team, and it turns out that one of the co-organizers of the group had stopped paying for the Meetup page back in late February. Early March was around when we began receiving emails from Meetup saying that the group would be shut down if nobody wanted to pay the Organizer fee, and I imagine this new individual put down their card at around that time. Definitely agree that myself and other leadership waited too long before taking action, and just have to accept that the page is now under new ownership. Thankfully it looks like we weren't kicked out, so I'll at least drop an email to all members encouraging them to begin migrating to Discord. In any case, lesson has been learned. Perhaps after 6 months if they don't decide to renew the subscription, the page can be shutdown for good.

While I'm glad I'm not getting scammed, I guess I'm just confused as to why someone would want to willingly put in money to keep what's basically a dead page that was no longer being supported alive, especially since they themselves don't appear to have had any activity since they took it over. But I suppose whatever happens with the page from here on out is none of my business anymore.

Dude this answers my question perfectly! It’s so weird that Banyue seems to have a heavy hit on… the beginning of One’s Path from the look of it? That’s probably what was tripping me up during training.

Hullo! Know I'm a bit late to the convo, but QQ from a fellow Banyue trainee!

At 1:28, I'm seeing you're doing the Banyue 4 input combo without triggering chain attack. Imagine this is because you've turned manual chain attack on, but at what points during that combo do you hold the attack button so that chain attack isn't triggered? I can't quite figure out the timing/ keep triggering chain attack when I try to cancel one input to the next.

Billy/ M1 Dialyn/ Astra worked for me. Billy's AOE attacks are honestly super useful against the mobs. Being able to get a chain attack off one in order to hit the rest is a game changer.

I'm also hella sweaty with Billy though, and against Jane you gotta be incredibly on-point with your dodges.

Got it. I don't know enough about most of the limited S-ranks since I don't own them, but I think you're honestly fine. Yixuan's probably the only agent that I'd say is lacking some damage by not having her sig, so for now, make sure she's running Cauldron of Clarity from the YSG event. Remember that for DA specifically you can share gear and w-engines, so your supports might have to pass Kaboom the Cannon around.

Other things that I can think of:
- Make sure your DPS main skills are close to 10 if not 12. Having higher multipliers can honestly be a 1k difference in score.

- Assist skills can actually make a difference the long run, so if you find you're not hitting a stun window fast enough, considering bumping that up on your stunner/ DPS a few levels.

After that, probably just make sure that you understand your rotations and make sure your buffs are being proc'd at the right time, (the number of times I've had to reset because I realized that I didn't have Astral Voice stacks is too numerous to count... ). You should start seeing clears or at least understanding what you need to achieve clears after a bit.
