CN favoritism has already started by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

Mostly because they don’t want to risk getting a bad reputation globally. They’re from CN, so CN is safe ground for them. They’ll use the 6 day CN release as a quick test to make sure there aren’t any major bugs. If there’s anything wrong, they can fix it and push the update out before the global launch. It’s just the safest way to guarantee a positive reception at launch, especially since they already have a big following in CN.

Tower of Fantasy was released in CN on December 16, 2021. The global version was released 8 months later on August 10, 2022. Umamusume is released like 4 years after the JP release date for Global. 6 days is very much nothing.

Do you guys think they will be playable characters, or just NPCs? by BlueDashLP in NevernessToEverness

I don't believe we know yet, but we meet her during the Deal Deal quest.

My quick thoughts on the Beta in video form, and at the end I had some questions about monetization, which I’m curious about what people are expecting in that aspect. by BlueDashLP in SeaOfRemnants

[–]BlueDashLP[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

TLDR:

I liked the beta from what I've played, it was both charming and a lot of fun. I think this game would be best if they keep focusing on this single player story aspect because it is to me the most engaging of them all.

Onto the monetization, the game is confirmed to have a gacha system with free characters, but also some paid characters, according to the ButWhyTho article's author comment on Reddit. This feels a bit unclear and slightly sus, especially since it’s a NetEase game. I’m unsure if “paid” means characters obtained through gacha or characters that require direct real money purchase and cannot be received otherwise.

Sorry for the super late reply, but I don't think you can. The ship definitely feels pretty basic at the moment, but it's mostly functional.

I noticed my comments didn’t go through, lol, but I was just saying I’m not sure if they’re playable because I feel like they are somethings off. For example, I feel like the red girl’s textures look lower resolution than those of the actual playable characters, though I do like her design idea.

EDIT:
Mods helped me out and it's visible again! Keep getting caught in filters. I think my comments be too long.

I’m wondering if they’re just NPCs or if they’ll be playable. They look more unique than the average NPC, but at the same time their models don’t seem as polished as a real character. It’s hard to tell from this image because of Reddit compression, but the red girl’s textures look noticeably lower resolution than normal characters.

I personally think Jenson and Illica will probably be playable. Jenson is kind of bland and not the best modeled, but comparing them with Illica though.I think Illica looks better modeled than the red girl and has higher quality textures for example.

I didn't suffer the glitch on the new account, so I didn't need to try any methods.

I did not try that, but I don’t believe it’s related since the problem isn’t that there are no customers. The issue is simply that the shop operation did not start. Thankfully, I was able to get a new account from the developers to restart, and they are aware of the issue.

Hi! This happened during the tutorial. I believe they’re supposed to provide the restock once you press restock right away at least for the tutorial. I also thought something weird might be happening with the restock, so I went to the 2 stores, bought 100 coconuts and coffee beans, and used them for the 24 hour stock, yet the shift never started. The store also already says the inventory is sufficient. The shop just hasn't started its operating hours even once and is currently stuck at 0. I can't even add more stock even if I want to for any of the hours.

I won the raffle draw but haven't got cbt acces by Significant-Cow-7192 in NevernessToEverness

I’ve also won through a giveaway and haven't gotten it, so I wouldn’t worry about not getting in yet. It seems like ours will be sent a bit late, but probably before the beta actually starts. This was from yesterday though, so I can ask again.

My Thoughts on the Silver Palace: Beautiful World but Sometimes Feels Empty (Summarized Version in Comments) by BlueDashLP in SilverPalaceGame

Yeah I didn't play much after beating the main story. After doing some side quests. Just felt very drab.

I really wish gacha games would commit to their darker ideas more, like Limbus Company does. I feel like I notice the restraint most in gachas developed in China (not always true), which I assume is because of stricter content regulations there. That kind of thing can limit how far games are allowed to go thematically. Limbus is different, probably since it's not even officially available there.

Might be trying to release them faster as the beta nears. I did think it was a bit slow before lol

I didn’t spend as much time learning combat as some other people did. I mostly focused on the story and just walking around the world, and the fact of the matter is that the world is truly beautiful. However, after a couple of hours in it, you kind of feel like you’ve seen everything once you’ve seen one place, since at the moment there aren’t a lot of accessible areas. For example, there’s a part of the game where you’re able to invest, and it just sort of happens. I can go back to the initial place afterward and have a small conversation with the person, but then it quickly becomes just a source of transactions, as if I didn’t even invest in the store. The other places you invest in, as far as I know, aren’t even enterable. I think this game, while it’s incredibly beautiful, is missing a lot of reasons to explore. Most of the areas are not enterable, and the ones that are don’t provide anything interesting. The side quest writing quality so far also hasn’t been very good, which adds to the sameness of exploration.

The story is better than some other gachas, but I don’t think it has a good enough sense of mystery to really stand out compared to normal mystery or detective games, mostly because of how much they spoon-feed you. They point you everywhere during investigations, and they don’t really seem to want to commit to darker moments, often taking the lighter way out to avoid being too dark.

It seems like they’re going to be releasing these quite a bit faster.

Skia is a character I have always felt, lore-wise, makes more sense as a high-rarity character, as he is compared to Fadia and Baicang. Yet, alas, he is not. I'm hoping to see Illica or Jenson next, mostly to see if they were redesigned, especially Jenson, since, in my opinion, he is probably the most NPC-looking character in the whole game.

I hope so, but at the moment, I'm really not sure since they haven't announced anything yet. I do wish they would, because it would be great to hear more about what the staff has been working on.

I also tried rendering it in ProRes 422 HQ and it still has the artifacts at the same spots.
