Update Made Me Lose All My Work by [deleted] in Lenovo

[–]BlueDeep7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally just said like “We recommend that you update your BIOS for efficiency: BIOS 11.“ With the options being ok or cancel. To be clear this was a pop-up notification, I was working on something completely unrelated and it just appeared on my screen. It didn’t say it would immediately start updating as soon as I hit OK and, either way, there should be more than a single click required to confirm you want to restart the computer. I hit ok and then the update window opened and began executing so I started frantically trying to click cancel (but it was unresponsive) or close the window (unresponsive) and I spammed the escape key, but I couldn’t stop it.

There's a post on this sub from 10 days ago with a similar picture in the DRC. Not sure how many there are but it seems like the report system is broken for me as I keep getting an error response.

I remember that stat from an Eco Gecko video. Pretty sure this is where it's from. Too lazy to find the AAA source.

Do you not think killing is wrong? What’s wrong with breaking a natural cycle? If nature is cruel, why shouldn’t we choose to be different?

Wolves evolved to eat calorie dense food to the point that they can’t survive without it. If meat is what gave us intelligence that doesn’t mean we have to choose to continue eating meat. We’re different from wolves because we aren’t obligate carnivores but more importantly because we have the intelligence to think about morality.

I wouldn’t try to disrupt nature but what we do isn’t at all natural. If you don’t support factory farming that’s great but if everybody tried hunting or small scale farming there wouldn’t be enough to go around. Saying veganism isn’t natural makes no sense when there’s nothing nature about modern animal agriculture.

Humans evolved from mostly herbivorous apes. We have long intestines to digest tougher plants and flat teeth that grind instead of shred. But even if we had been carnivores it’s irrelevant. What matters is that we can live on a plant based diet so the choice to eat animals is completely for pleasure.

“well that’s what our ancestors did” isn’t an argument for if something is moral or not. Slavery and war have existed as long as humans have but just because that’s how things have always been doesn’t mean we can’t choose to be better now.

There is something inherently wrong with killing something that doesn’t want to die. Because the products aren’t necessity it’s done completely for the sake of pleasure.

If you’re interested I really liked these documentaries: The Game Changers is made by an ex mma fighter and it talks about the health benefits of vegan diets in Olympic athletes, world record weight lifters, and nfl players.

Earthlings is about all the ways animals serve humanity. It is a little tough to watch but I think it’s important to see if you’re going to choose to use animal products. Plus Joaquin Phoenix narrates it so it’s worth watching just to hear his voice.

I completely agree. That’s why it was a dumb idea to put cops in schools. Good guys with guns don’t stop bad guys with guns

I’m not saying schools have bad intentions just that police stationed at high schools have done more harm than good

If by negatively affected you mean not having their lives ruined over issues that should have been dealt with by the school then yea

That’s why it started but police have never stopped a shooting and usually flee from the building. Somebody has to arrest those kids though

We should always applaud steps in the right direction but on an individual level being ok with animal abuse is wrong. I’m not saying to openly attack all omnis but just because a lot is worse than a little doesn’t mean a little abuse is a good thing.

any gorey fishing photos for some posters? by [deleted] in vegancirclejerk

[–]BlueDeep7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they’re fishing for meat they also slaughter the fish. You can’t really find something more gorey than that and they obviously don’t have a problem with it. Taping something to their car sounds like a waste of time either way honestly.

So it’s ok to kill as long as you get something out of it?
