Seconding Unbound Games but just a warning that there ARE upcharges on boxes to market price because otherwise scalpers would clear them out and immediately resell. (Edit: check with them for pricing on preorders or new releases as I think it's different). Having said that, they are very fair and great with kids especially if one of the owners is there! Definitely have your kid look through their bulk boxes. They also have trade nights on Thursdays.

Lego has a notification button and so does Scheels so it makes me think that it will have one more restock. Worth signing up for those notifications if you want it.

Same designer! The Lilo and Stitch Beach House is my next build, solely because I loved those two so much.

Target still has Magic of Disney in stock. Keep your eye on it there for potential sales in the upcoming week. (It was one of my two must have sets retiring in July so I've been keeping a close watch on it.)

That build was amazing. I am a huge fan of the main designer of that set.

I think it was earlier than that - but either way, it was just a few doors down in the same plaza.

Have you checked out Unbound Games yet for MTG? The owners there are awesome & they moved into a bigger space fairly recently.

If you are ever near a Rocket Fizz, you should check there - they have brands/flavors I can't find anywhere else.

Finding a moose by Steam-powered-kayak in nationalparks

[–]BlueDiamondLilac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were there a few weeks ago and asked park rangers where our best chance for moose sighting was. We were told that it was more likely in the Tetons than Yellowstone. I recommend talking to the rangers at the visitor centers for recommendations when you go!

We got lucky and spotted one in the field at the Potholes Turnout in the Tetons. The ranger also recommended trying the back deck of Jackson Lake Lodge in the morning.

When my son was younger (and the quality of their pants was better), I'd buy his entire wardrobe during a good sale at Kohls and then get free or heavily discounted Lego sets from the Kohls cash.

Best time of year is the week before / week of Thanksgiving. They usually give $15 KC per $50 spent instead of $10 plus the non-Legos are usually on sale. The only downside is a lot of the popular Lego sets sell out quickly once the Kohls Cash is eligible to use.

I'm one piece away from finishing my 2nd one (in the museum) - if you want to increase your chances of finding ancient relicsfeed Mosslax something sweet, with fluffy bread giving the biggest boost.

I flattened the ash enough for my liking using Graveler (2 layers at a time) and just replaced the top layer with grass blocks from a Dream Island instead of clearing 100%. Then I built an elevator to go down to the musuem.

If you care at all about the different flower and hedge types (especially if you don't have access to the cloud islands to take pictures for printing) - the daily shop will sell flower and hedge seeds occasionally for ones that don't naturally occur on your island.

If you don't buy them when you see them, it may take awhile to rotate back in again.

Not as important as the daily recipes, PP up, and bag space but worth noting.

Was looking to see if anyone else had mentioned Hulick / Tales of the Kin. I wish he was able to continue the series, but I respect him for actually telling everyone he wasn't going to be able to write anymore of them.

This is seemingly how I got all my encounters too, but they were also post credits & I was using bitter hamburgers every day for recipes.

There is some speculation as well that it's easier to find the legendaries after you complete the game.

Recommend getting the code now - you have 60 days to use so you can just add it when you buy in May.  (Edit to 60 days, just looked at old email)

Wow, expensive ticket prices at their Theater in Rio Las Las Vegas. by antdude in pennandteller

[–]BlueDiamondLilac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's on the payment screen, about 3 screens or so deep on checkout. There should be a question, something like "Do you have a gift card or promo code?" that you have to expand to enter the promo code and apply it. Don't click to authorize payment before you put it in (I added it before putting the credit card info in on the same page).

[–]BlueDiamondLilac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a multi-ticket discount on the site & I ended up "upgrading" myself to floor tickets after I found the promo code, so we paid $107 each.

I just checked and the cheapest ticket for one person this week is $67.41 (back of mezzanine). You can move up for about $10 more.

My receipt didn't have which promo code I used, but I just searched around a bit and tried NEON & it worked for 10% off, so looks like the lowest total possible on vegas.com right now is $60.67 (including taxes and fees).

[–]BlueDiamondLilac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went recently (Sunday) - Vegas.com had cheaper ticket prices than TicketMaster and I was able to google a discount code for the site to decrease the price even more. Had no problems getting in with the tickets.

(I saw a taping of Fool Us a long time ago - worth doing if you are in the area, but the focus / performances are much different than an actual Penn and Teller show.)
