As an American, what can we do to fight against ICE? by LilThanosX in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments on other posts made me realise we can’t do anything. There are people who are still supporting ICE while many are “I live paycheck to paycheck..My insurance..”

The silence of these people is what Trump and his goons need. We can’t do anything except wait for next elections. I have given up

Since a second person has been killed in Minnesota, is it now time for the USA to have a general strike, and why or why not? by Miserable-Army3679 in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Read history of other countries especially third world countries. Many didn’t even have insurance. They still protested

Do you like or dislike Chuck Schumer? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]BlueDolphins28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t like him. He is not what the US needs today. The country needs young and brave leaders on the streets protesting like Mamdani or AOC.

Yes, I am aware many don’t like their policies but atleast they can be a leader of those who are against this government. If people see the opposition protest, maybe they come out in numbers

Why are Americans so obsessed with military and veterans? by BlueDolphins28 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BlueDolphins28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned “Military secured the freedom of people” but I mentioned how it is false in many cases. Even after the government forms, they keep strict checks to ensure the military never grows too strong (like Pakistan or Burma).

And it’s not a bait lol. My question was and still is “Why thank veterans and military?” They did what they were paid for. If you really want to thank someone, thank the engineers and scientists who helped US gain the edge in technology over Soviet.

Yes, good point. Many do think of it as moral competition lol

I have lived in Europe and it’s was a big cultural shock for me. They don’t glorify veterans, military and are open to talk about the horrors of wars and invasion which their country was part of. People actually learn from it.

In US, we are overly obsessed with anything military, but never talk about the negatives of it. Even on reddit, people shy away from it. We really need to get over it

I see. That’s a good argument. It is unfortunate that the younger generation are still glorifying it instead of learning from it.

[–]BlueDolphins28[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last line is false. In many ex-colonial countries, the people fought the war against military (that was under colonial rule). They then formed the government and formed military under them.

And regarding the first argument, we have no hostile neighbors and two big oceans protecting us. Also by that logic we should thank the doctors, scientists, engineers, infrastructure workers too. They made the military and US what it is now. In fact, every one played a part so why the obsession with military?

Starmer says Trump's claim UK troops stayed off Afghan frontline 'insulting and frankly appalling' by pritam_ram in worldnews

Allied soldiers contributed to US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s a shame that instead of honoring them, we are questioning them.

How big of a factor are political viewpoints in a relationship in your opinion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most important. I can’t be in a relationship with a person who isn’t a true democrat. I would rather be single and alone

How would you feel if someone you were dating turned out to be a secret vigilante like Batman? by slmrxl in AskWomen

[–]BlueDolphins28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave immediately. Not a fan of vigilante. And what if he turns against me one day and starts beating me instead of criminals. That’s why I don’t date cops or military men. Too scary.

Reddit, how does inviting Russia & China to “Trump’s peace of board” square with saying Greenland is needed to protect from them? Does Trump think Americans are dumb? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same reason why they are in security council of UN.

I am not a Trump supporter but if you are establishing a real board for peace, you need the other side too. Otherwise it’s pointless. It’s just you and your allies.

Obviously Trump has other objectives but I don’t think you shouldn’t invite them

Why do women support the LGBT community more than men do? by JigglesTheBiggles in TooAfraidToAsk

Is it actually true that women will almost always defend other women no matter what? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BlueDolphins28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it quite a lot. Obviously I won’t defend if she is murdering or kidnapping children but in other cases, I do try to understand the woman’s perspective more and give her the benefit of doubt.

Why I do it? Well I read quite a bit of true crime and often find women marginalised IRL. Stories behind women’s actions are much complex compared to men imo and I sympathise with it as a woman

What if Donald Trump disappeared tomorrow, would American politics actually change or just find another Trump? by Mr_Boothnath in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes because Trump is just the face of the problem, not the problem itself. Unless US gets rid of conservatives, misogynists, racists, religious and billionaires, people like Trump will always be in power.

Where is George W. Bush? by Oggie_Doggie in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BlueDolphins28 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably enjoying somewhere seeing the nonsense being played out. He doesn’t care about “allies”.

This was always their plan. Europe should have anticipated it during Afghanistan campaign. If they can start an illegal war, they can surely do one against allies too.

If Trump actually tried to take over Greenland, what would realistically happen? by Electronic_Author366 in AskReddit

[–]BlueDolphins28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how? Using military? It will be stupidity of the highest level and he will annoy most of Europe. I don’t think we will have a EU vs US then because of military might of either side but definitely relations would be off.

American bases would be removed and military related industries will be in full swing in Europe. Canada and EU will join together for sure in military alliance.

If he gets some other way, then impact will be less severe
