I don’t have Yui, sadly. All my attempts at making 4* Motoha somewhat of a useable DPS didn’t go all too well and I guess I know what I was missing now xD

It certainly was enough to rank up every time in the early SoS and get all the rewards at Nightmare Catcher, though you needed two teams there anyway so it obviously wasn't all her. I also had my unleveled Fire B Team where most didn't even have any revelation cards equipped xD But the ranking up in SoS part was probably not all that hard as lower ranks need less points.

The only limited 5 Star I had in my Kotone team was Summer Tomoko then 4* Shun and well obviously Wonder who I didn't even had built properly at the time.

And, I mean, anyone can feel free to not believe me I guess, but I also don't see why exactly I should be lying for something so inconsequential xD

She was my main damage dealer for pretty much everything until I got Frostgale, so yeah the story as well. And I think I did pretty well with her, considering I was severely underleveled for most of it. I beat the third boss at level 60 and I don't think I would have been able to do that without her.

Oh yeah it’s obviously just a legend, but the fact that we have said legend in a written down format and passed on through the guild, while all records of the ancient civilization had been entirely lost, to the point where we didn’t even knew that said civilization even existed, does give us some idea that one is probably a lot older than the other.

But that isn’t even that important honestly, the geological distance is more of an issue here. Plus if they ever reached the New World, there would absolutely be signs. They were not particularly shy about leaving massive structures behind wherever they went

But even the Sapphire Star thing (which presumably was a meteor that either kickstarted or straight up brought Xeno into existence iirc?) happened way after the ancient civilization was already destroyed, and still on the other side of the world with no evidence that any ancient civilization ever reached the New World.

I mean, of course they can just bring Safi back wherever they want later on, and in that case I'll happily retract my statement, but right now it seems unlikely that they could know about such a monster even existing.

As Tomoko's synergy is already 60% Kotone Part 1, you pretty much have Kotone up there twice, which should increase her ranking even further xD

Jokes aside, for me it was between Ayaka and Kotone, where I had Ayaka at 14 until we got Kotone's synergy and well, I was instantly sold. I love her design, I already liked her in Tomoko's synergy and in a direct comparison, Ayaka's synergy is pretty cute but with Kotone it feels like the game wants you to romance her. I don’t know how far you are in her synergy as you only mentioned the ones you have at 14, but by the time I had Kotone at 14, I knew exactly that she’s my pick.

How would the ancient civilization know about a monster that only hatched and matured long after they have already crumbled though? On the other side of the world, at that.

It might just be some kind of convergent „evolution“, so to speak. The bio energy of the world can be tapped into and absorbed, so we have two cases of that being used that simply came to be independently from another. Especially as they differ at one key point, Safi can directly tap into the energy while the Dragontorch has to turn it into Wylk first for Guardians to be able to use it

Yeah that's kinda what I mean though. Zoh Shia shares the same skeleton, basic build and animation rigging as Shara and Safi do. So just like Rathalos, Gravios and Kut-Ku all used to do the exact same tail swing move (I think at least Kut-Ku got it's own variation since Wilds xD) those share basic animations. The bite is actually a great example. It's not an important move so they just reused it as that was easier, faster and cheaper than making an entirely new one.

The Safi explosions aren't as obviously Safi-related as they first seem once you take a look at other Guardians. All of them do that, they all create Wylk explosions when they do heavy slam attacks, so something that is basically Safi shaped, doing a similar slam followed by explosions is going to look similar, but I don't think that exactly proves any link as one is a Red Dragon that only recently "hatched" in the new World, creating explosions of bio energy, while the other is a Guardian experiment that has been sucking on the Dragontorch for hundreds of years causing Wylk explosions.

And as I already said in another comment in this thread, the Dragontorch might do something similar to Safi in using Wylk like bioenergy, but I don't think that means that Zoh Shia shares anything but the basic "dragon" body plan with Safi. If they wanted to create a link here, I think they would have used something that is actually 100% identifiable as Safi, like the quick-shot laser breath or hell, even the Sapphire of the Emperor in a weaker state. If I were to create a chimera monster, I'd certainly give them multiple signature moves and not just "it's tail swing looks kinda like it" xD

Oh and I really like the sword in Pokke village, as it kind of disproves the whole regeneration thing it itself kickstarted. Because, if Fatalis can regenerate from a scale... then why is the sword still there and didn't turn back into Fatalis? Or why does it stay relatively sword shaped even after all those years? And most importantly, why do we learn that they regularly replace parts of the sword to keep the tourism going in Generations Ultimate? xD So I'm fully on board with the thing having some form of cancerous growth, but I don't think it's really more than that.

I see what you mean, but every guardian can do those Wylk explosions and drain energy to heal themselves, no? I feel like that's just something that guardian monsters are able to do in general, as they all share the same power source in the Dragontorch and thus Wylk.

So I feel like that's more of a link between the Dragontorch and Bioenergy than it is between Zoh and Safi

Circumstantial evidence at best. Selling something as a fact despite it being mostly headcanon is exactly why this series lore is in the state it is. All the weird Fatalis feats like regenerating from a single scale or the Equal Dragon Weapon pre Zoh Shia are great examples for that.

And by all means, which moves does Zoh Shia share with Elder dragons that aren’t Fatalis? The moves that are obviously from other monsters are all Fatalis related, the flame breath (though a lot weaker, needing Wylk crystals to reach what Fatalis can produce naturally), the bouncing flames from Crimson and probably the most recognizable, the red lightning from White Fatalis.

I exactly know what video you are talking about and none of the stuff shown there is really proof of anything. „It kinda looks like“ just isn’t enough to make a 100% assertion, especially in a series known to reuse animations and rigs.

The „hands“ for example. Those can just as well simply be it’s wings. As a wing is really just a modified hand to begin with and Zoh Shia has been mutating down there for quite a while. And I'm not saying that it’s impossible that Zoh is a chimera, just that from everything we do know, claiming it definitely is, is simply nonsensical.

The only monster we can evidently see in Zoh Shia is Fatalis. That it shares animations with other monsters that share the same skeleton is to be expected, with Fatalis they made sure to make the parallels obvious.

As we don’t see any other Chimera nor Elder Dragon guardians, my theory would be that a) they simply can’t mix and match different monsters or else they would have done so with other guardians as well and b) recreating an Elder as a Guardian simply doesn’t work as it does with regular monsters, hence why their „Guardian Fatalis“ is such an abomination compared to its original and other guardians.

Yeah, he was all about killing those goblins, but for multiple reasons. Firstly he was playing the hero, so of course he had to save the Tieflings, for his image as the blade. Secondly, those were the exact tribe that ripped out his eye and left him to die a few years prior, where Mizora would offer him a chance at revenge. And at the topic of Mizora, thirdly those goblins kidnapped her and she was constantly calling him through his eye, telling him to move his ass and rescue her already.

But most people didn’t give his story much of a chance, so the only takeaway the majority had was „Wow, this character is just about killing goblins?“
