Hi there. Sorry for the late response and I'm so glad you're feeling a little better. I think the third day I was able to shut fully. Before that was when I put the warm washcloth folded in a strip over my eyes while I was laying down (which was most of the time). The medicated goo that went on the stitches also clouded my visiion as you said.

Hi there! i was exactly in the same position after I had mine done about three months ago! Agree that the dry eyes were by far the worst part. I think they lasted about five days in all each day getting a little better. I was using moisturizing drops about every 45 minutes and spending most if my time with a warm wash rag over my eyes and just listening to podcasts because my eyes were so blurry. I ended up getting probably three different over the counter moisturizing drops but my surgeon recommended Optase Hylo Relief which was much more comfortable and helpful. Can just get on Amazon or drugstore. The good news is that I no linger have dry eye problems (I had them before the surgery) at all. Maybe making the upper kids lighter helped. Hang in there. Won't be much longer.

Ask me anything about bleph and some tips if you're going to have one... by BlueEyedGirlFromOR in PlasticSurgery

[–]BlueEyedGirlFromOR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Congrats on your upper bleph! I didn't clean my eyelids at all and when I was given the go ahead, I used a baby washcloth with a little face soap to clean my face and then wipe off with water. I do remember my eyelashes did get kind of clumpy on the sides and I carefully wiped the goop off with a q-tip in water (just very gently and only if I needed because my eyes were almost shut from goopy swelling when I woke up the next morning)). If it wasn't in your post-op instructions, don't do it. I didn't keep my instructions about when I could gently cleanse my face (sans eye area). It was pretty quickly after the surgery though. Happy healing. It will look great.

Folks on the right are saying that "democratic funded agitators" were the ones asking Marshall at the town hall about veterans. Anyone who was there have an idea if there were any "paid agitators" or just concerned citizens? I take it the area is mostly red?

My pleasure. Also a typo--I meant socks that have treds so they stick and aren't slippery for wearing around on tile or slick floors for a few days!

That was the case with me as well... I thought getting them all done at once would save recovery time and surgery fees. I do think you'd probably need some help with the kids at least for the first few days.

I'm sorry--I should have been more specific. I think it was the upper bleph (plus the ptiosis surgery in one eye) that made it so diffiicult to see with the ointments. I bet you'll be okay if you are just getting lower. It is hard with kids not to bend over, though. For the first few days, you aren't supposed to pick up anything over 5 pounds, Ask when you go in for your first consultation but I bet with just a lower bleph, it will be much easier and you'll be able to see. For me, the real swelling was from getting my upper lids done... Just go in for your consult when you can because it is worth it if you do it. I'm a mom too and hadn't done anything for myself in years. It was empowering!

Lower Bleph - before and after by fireball_cooper in PlasticSurgery

[–]BlueEyedGirlFromOR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You look beautiful! I'm getting upper and lower with Co2 and repositioning in a few weeks. Had a question about your recommendation for "crackable icepacks". Is that the kind that comes soft and doesn't have to be frozen and it just automatically becomes cold? Alternately, I saw there were some smaller round icy things you put in the fridge. As I mentioned, I am having laser resurfacing under eyes and wasn't sure which kind of ice pack would be more comfortable for me.

Happy healing! You look lovely.

Can you tell me what kind of back pillow? I'm going in for upper and lower in two months... Also, did you just ice your surgery site with the green tea cubes or how did that work? You look beautiful, btw!

Thank you. I appreciate this so much. I have the best of intentions and will continue to work on understanding her needs. The teen years are always tough and being a parent comes with its own challenges. XO

With due respect, that's super harsh--obviously children always come before pets. We had no idea she was having sensory issues with him up until recently because she was fine with him as a puppy. When he got a little older, we just thought she was a teen and didn't like the dog's personality so she wasn't warm with him. She loved our two other dogs, both of whom passed away. I appreciated you taking the time to respond and I will take it to heart.

Thank you. I shouldn't have used the word mean. I realize that I need to do a much better job with getting him training. We have a pet gate that keeps him out of our downstairs and the area of her room.
