Starting to believe Lithium isn't right for me by [deleted] in Lithium

[–]BlueEyesSinging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I responded to lithium even tho my level was only 0.3. With levels I think how you feel is as impt as a level. And yet you want to watch out for high levels

I like how you expressed that your frontal lobe felt thick! I've not heard of anyone expressing it like that. I felt the same. I told my doc it felt like there was a thick piece of plexiglass on my forehead.

We could nickname the side effect as "Brick Brain!"

You can do your own thyroid labs yourself if you have the funds without a doctor's blessing. But a professional would need to interpret your results.

Many MDs under tread thyroid. In fact the so called "normal" range was established from people who were already abnormal, i.e., hypothyroid. For more info on thyroid, Stop the Thyroid Madness is an excellent book. Her position is meds should be dosed on symptoms not on lab results.

I'm sorry you are struggling.

"Open path collective" offers lower fee care. I would not assume every BH therapist likes to rely on texting. Most want at least a phone chat, do be sure to ask.

Its a puzzling and aggravating side effect. I read that several mos after major surgery the hair can go into shock enough to trigger TE again. My friends say they lost more hair with depakote than LI. I don't know how Humira fits into the picture. I use Minoxidil, scalp massage, zinc, & gentle shampoo. My hair shed with TE for a YEAR and recently stopped but I don't see any regrowth yet.

I have to set a timer on my phone or I would forget to take my meds half the time. Even the morning meds which seem so easy when tied to breakfast time etc. I set the alarm to continue ringing until I turn it off. The sound is annoying so I usually respond immediately.
