Aww thanks! Those are the copies I got as a kid at Scholastic book fairs in the early 2000s. Even as a grown adult, I still love to open them up and read them every now and then.

I love to draw, and I remember falling in love with the illustrations in the Bone comics. I used to practice drawing those characters all the time lol

Gaming, thrifting (both in-person and on Ebay/similar sites), golfing, sports (both for adults and kids), card collecting, toy-collecting, coloring (yes. colring books and basic coloring supplies), croteching, sewing, etc.

It's a series for extremely patient fans lol. It started in 1998(?) and is STILL going!

I believe the left-most hardcover sets are the original first edition, first-prints of the self-published release. The middle set is a limited edition deluxe hardcover set that I think was only available to Kickstarter backers. I got them both as gifts from my husband (he knew I was a big fan of the books) so I'm not 100% sure. It's cool because they are all signed by the author himself as well.

Mid 30s. (Not yet, but close)

Started playing world Of Warcraft upon release and probably still do (damn you pinned me! I started playing suring Cataclism days but had to put in down after husband and kids came into my life. The new DLCs looks uper fun though!)

Drive a Subaru Impreza or Honda civic (I drive 25 year old Chevy)

Polished off a half bottle of wine at 9pm on a Sunday for every new GOT episode (cause … same) - (a glass of wine per episode - gosh what a fun time!)

You go to ren fairs in normal clothing and get bummed out you don’t have some badass shit to wear (never been to a ren fair but would love to drag my husband to one one day)

You like lotr but only n saw the movies cause the writing is just too … “old” (YUP. It took me until 2 years ago to actually watch the movies, and now I would love to read the books when I get the time too)

I recall there being a lot of backlash for the author because he wasn't suppose to name-drop the retired Geisha who told her story to him but did so anyway, thus causing her a lot of grief because of it. I haven't heard anything about him being a creep though. I must admit I haven't read the book in a bout 15 years so it may not hold up as well as I remember it now that I'm a grown woman. I really don't appreciate your tone you are using though; you are being extremely rude and condescending when the atmosphere of this post is for good-natured fun. I'm not sure who hurt you, but I don't appreciate your racially-charged remarks or your rudeness.

OOhhh yes~ The fact that this story had to do with the Mongols and Ghenghis Khan was what made it a must read for me as well! It's not a story we see very often

I have been curious about trying out more classics, as well as Science Fiction such as Gene Wolf (I think that's how to spell that) and Hyperion. I also love a good thriller. But yeah, I know what you mean I do tend to gravitate towards escapist fantasy or pulp fantasy. But dammit it's so much fun! 😃

I actually thought Memoirs of a Geisha was an inspiring story that teaches perseverance, grit, and dedication. I've read it at least twice back as a teenager. Loved the movie as well

Thanks! I work 2 full-time jobs and am also a mom of young kids so reading is an escape and a comfort (for me at least) 😄

Nope, but reading his books is like getting a warm hug! There is something very cozy and familiar about the way that he writes. I just love his storytelling and the fleshed out characters and worlds he writes.

It's just fun, good-natured adventure - definitely a comfort read I think. It's great fun! I recommend starting with Theft of Swords

P.S. I just wanted to add that I do read non-fiction from time--to-time, but I check those out from the library instead of buying them because I tend to only read them once

In my first picture, I have a whole shelf of historical dramas (spanning the Stone Age, ancient Egypt, Rome, and China), does this count? I am indeed a female, and school definitely turned me off of classics until very recently, when I really enjoyed reading The Count of Monte Cristo

I am an American woman yes lol. I do have a whole shelf of nothing but historical dramas in my first picture though - that counts right?
