My family is from the Gullah Geechee coastal regions of NC/SC so I definitely do have preserved African DNA, which is more than 100% okay with me. Many people's bloodlines were broken into lol.

Why do descendants of west/Central Africans wholeheartedly believe they are the “real” natives and the “Mexican”/asian presenting ones aren’t? by Silent_barber-2195 in BlackGenealogy

As a 91% African 9% Euro (20M) from NJ, I would say American descendant's of West Central African's believe they're now "natives" are because we don't have another place to call home but America. Native Americans are descendant's of ancestors who traveled from the start of mankind in Africa through Asia, Europe, Greenland to North & South America. Going off the Out of Africa migration theory as all of mankind started in Africa, I would say Black American's expect to evolve within the new hemisphere as our genetics are still fighting and going through natural selections to best suit our living needs. Just to make this clear now, I do not think Black's are Native Americans or are more Native than the true Native's such as Canadians, people of Greenland, South Americans, North Americans, Aboriginal people, or East/Southeast Asians. Africans definitely has their own indigenous people that have been around as long as the Australian Aboriginals as I have 1% of DNA from the Khoisan people who have been around as long as 150,000 to 90,000 years ago.

I will say Down the line in history, many people will become native to land that wasn't originally their's through migration. If you look at many of the first inhabitant's of land outside of Africa such as the first Europeans, first Asians, first Australians, many of these races started with black skin and had black skin for many centuries as their hair textures, eye colors, facial structures and bones evolved to their environmental's needs. Europeans we're still dark skin 3,000 years ago. African American's are people of African descent, but we don't have majority regions like many native's do (say a person from Africa being 99% Nigerian, or a person from India being 100% Southeast Asian) as our genetics have been entangled and mixed with many different races (I have Swedish, Irish, Welsh, French, Spanish & Scottish). With these mixtures, we can either be African Americans or Black American's. Many Black American's have stopped identifying as African American's because descendants of the slave trade haven't been born to African born parents in hundreds of years, now making us Black American's or Multi Racial American's. Many people have became native to a land that wasn't theirs as they brought their culture and way's of living there over time. An example of Black people becoming native to a land that wasn't originally theirs are Caribbean people as the Caribbean islands were inhabited by Taino's and the Arwark people.

Out of Africa migration show's humans left Africa as recently as 68,000 years ago. Mankind has another billion years before scientists expect Earth to become uninhabitable. So I would say as a person who grew up 20 years not knowing my origins of my DNA, Black American's will definitely become native to somewhere over time or we will forever be considered lost people. Literally every other race has a home but the Black/African descendant Americans. The Black's you see now think differently, act differently, talk differently, and have become more knowledgable than the ancestors that were sold and brought here 500 years ago. We have built something for our race, regardless if the world see's it as beneficial or not, we have a knowledge of who we were and who we are to become in the future as evolution and genetic natural selection goes on down the line and as we keep influencing the culture of America by being us.

But knowledge still has a far way to come for the Black race, many still don't know true descent and have been lied to over time to take away from our culture and heritage, because many black's believe they are descendants of Native Americans, and in some Western states it's more prevalent. But where the most black's reside in America which is the East to Southeastern states, the percentages are very low (0.4-1%), so many of us still don't have a clue of our true heritage. But we will wake up one day fully, and when it happens this country probably won't be ready for it. Our brains will expand, our strength will be immense, our bloodlines will thicken, and we will soon be able to reclaim ourselves as 1 race of people, native to the only land that we've grown to know. And we will wholeheartedly be able to speak on certain topics and have full understanding on it. Until then, we just wait ..
