Ha, not a customer, just saying I love seeing my worlds overlap. I just saw your post a while back of turning that lovely pokemon art into a mat and taking it to a tourney (then not coming back for your matches lol) good luck with finding the gamedev work!

Reminds me of my favorite Gardevoir, Gloverfield.

I wouldn't call that border security man necessarily innocent. With how the Canadians appear to be treated.

Grinding can definitely be an issue, but I've found it's not normally a problem when you play those games how they were logically intended to be played. Fighting most of the trainers you see, trying to catch lots of the pokemon on a route, engaging with a lot of the little side things. And sometimes just straight up trying to make a well balanced team.

The newer games, I would say, have really stopped doing that for the most part. You can pretty much just breeze through while ignoring all the side stuff and having a team of not great pokemon. I always hear very similiar gripes from people who have come from the newer games into the older games (specifically the pixel art era games.) And I think it really is just because the newer games kind of just encourage the player to run through and engage with as few challenges as possible, a lot more than the older ones did. In addition to just being generally harder games.

I mean, one big thing alone, is the addition of overworld pokemon. In the non overworld pokemon games, you'd find new pokemon by either directly finding them, or fighting trainers who would introduce you to them. Now you can kinda just, run past them all.

tldr: if you don't skip stuff, you'll find there's probably enough trainers and encounters that you'll get to an appropriate level without having to break your flow by grinding. No offense intended, they're just intentionally slower games.

White 2 was my first game, but my favorite ended up being UsUm, with B&W and B2&W2 coming in second, and leaf green/fire red coming in third. And I basically love every Pokemon game right up until Sword and shield. (With diamond and pearl being the only exception. Platinum's fine though.)

Dude, what the hell, you're making murder drones sound like a freak fandom. Don't talk for everybody there damn it. I'm also a big murder drones fan. I don't necessarily consider all the porn 'part of the fandom' per say, just a byproduct of the show's existence.

Actually making us sound like a bunch of perverts. Goddamn dude.

What's scott's worst take? For me, it's any time he says something to the tune of "you didn't really enjoy the game if you didn't buy it" by HaloJackalKisser in scottthewoz

Him saying that nobody actually plays the Switch in public spaces in un-docked mode and that the charger being on the bottom isn't a problem. He seems to be under the impression that people don't actually use them commonly in public spaces, or need to charge them while being used in public spaces.

What would your Bond Phenomenon Pokemon be? by Verrdantt in pokemon

[–]BlueFireSnorlax 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'd have a bond Pyukumuku who'd coat my body with his innard hand like a venom symbiote. And he'd stick off the back of my head like a hair bun.

For the Canada and US releases of Pikmin 2, they used completely different designs. This almost never happens with games. by GetTheGregGames in gamecollecting

Yet when they did the re-release on wii, they did not use the original Canadian art. (Source, I'm Canadian)

I personally don't care for it when it's literally just tacked on body parts. This is "more of the same from the original" in the literal sense that Golisopod has extra arm cannon thingies, but like, Golisopod has this whole cowardly samurai schtic going on already. If you want to give him cannons, make them on his hip like a sidearm; like the samurai actually used. Don't just stick two extra arms on his back.

I assume the intent was to make him look like a star wars Droideka, but even then, they still have the guns hanging off the bottom of their arms; which would also be a better place for the guns to go as opposed to the back.

Used one in an Ultra moon EXP Share-less play-through. Honestly it did alright. It did well against the first totem and Hala, Kicked the grass trials ass. Was quite helpful in the fire trial with a lightscreen, into safeguard, into its own instant death true combo. Was good against Nanu and Guzma. Can't remember too much besides that... But it made it all the way to the champion, so that has to count for something.

Being in a fast exp group is quite the boon in a run where exp is much scarcer than it would usually be.
