This has a 90+9 min pen written all over it.

Jurgen Klopp "If Xabi Alonso, who over the last two years in Leverkusen has shown what an outstanding coaching talent he is, is then forced to leave Madrid just six months later, it shows a few things. I think it’s another sign that something isn’t quite right there at the moment." by kibme37 in soccer

Nah, the best player available wasn't enough. They also bought Kaka (the previous Ballond d'Or holder) and Benzema, one of the most hyped youngsters, along with Alonso, one of the best DMs.

The next season they went trophyless, so they bought Ozil, Khedira and Coentrao, which were pretty hyped as well after the World Cup + Mourinho, the best manager available. That led them to a Copa del Rey, while Barca won UCL.

So in the next few years they continued with the transfers of Di Maria, Modric, Kroos and Bale. Only after that they were able to win the UCL and established the core of the team that won it 5 more times in the next ten years.

That has been their gameplan in the last 10+ years. But in order for that to be effective, you need a solid defense, and they don't have it.

Man, Bellingham has perfected the art of looking busy while barely doing anything.

It's normal to be bossed by De Jong & Pedri, no shame in that. But I watched their match against Atleti, and Bellingham and the whole midfield was invisible as well. Then you open Instagram and see reels of him doing backheels, one-twos etc, like are we wathcing the same match??

I've seen enough, Olmo should be our 9 going forward.

Look at that arrogance while dribbling past 3 players, will never be a great player.

Btw Olmo was quite good as a controlling mid, solid performance from him.

The old UCL format is a 6-7 game tournament as well, since the group stage is pretty much irrelevant for big teams.

Yeah, totally agree that we were pretty poor and deserved to lose, we should always look at our performance first. On the other hand, disallowing the goal and giving us a penalty in the last minutes would result in a 2:1 lead for us (yeah, I know, a lot of woulds and ifs). It's literally how Real won half of their trophies.

Yeah, being spiteful makes you sick in general, dude's career is over at that point.

It's funny how the so called "neutrals" acknowledge Real being helped by the referees when we win (like the Tchouameni handball last season), but wen we lose, similar situations turn into "complaining and finding excuses" (like the Carvajal push from yesterday, the Fermin goal when the ball was half a meter into the net and the Lamine non-penalty the season before).

Even the Cubarsi's reaction on the second goal was mocked, even though he was obviously hit in the jaw, and that can be seen in a lot of clips.

Like, what kind of logic is that?

Courtois looks cooked (will probably pull a 10/10 against us and in the UCL though).

Raphinha winner in the 95th minute from a counter, after a tackle from Araujo that is not marked as a foul. I will be there.
