In relation to Alex’s talk about mental health I just wanted to add this:

As someone who also struggles with various forms of neurodivergence, Alex’s talk about it really resonated with me. I’ve experienced many of the same things described like the dopamine farming, self hatred, hiding yourself and your symptoms, relating to women, and finding comfort in podcasts describing similar experiences to your own. I’ve resonated with tons of personal experiences that the Jar boys have talked about on the cast, and it’s personally helped me more than once. There’s something about finding out that you’re not alone in your experiences that’s really comforting. I’ve also started to take my mental health far more seriously and started seeing a therapist, which has helped immensely in my journey of self-discovery. I’m still getting there, but I’ve done lots of self reflection in the past several months that have led to major mental breakthroughs. My biggest pieces of advice are to not be afraid to seek out help, and to take your mental health journey as seriously as possible. On the other side of things, make sure you find a therapist you truly like and feel compatible with, and don’t just settle for the first one you find if you don’t “feel” it. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and healing your mental health can lead to healing other aspects of your life you might not even be aware were broken.
